Want to find way to get the Rhodes brand again. Worked better with less side effects. ## Hello, Mary! How are you? The only thing you can really do is speak to your pharmacist about it, they might be able to order the other one back in for you. Alternatively, you could go to other pharmacies in your area and ask which they carry. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
Is there a blue bill similar. Im worried she will get kicked out of pain mgmt. How closely do they check ? ## If there aren't exacly enough pills there, she will get kicked out of ain management. For example, if the directions say take 1 tablet twice a day and she got the rx on July 28 and they are going to be counted on Aug 13, she would need to have 32 pills. If she is sure that they won't do a tox report at the pill count she needs to just take 1 pill a day instead of 2 until she knows that she will have the correct amount at the pill count. ## Is there a pill that looks like 15 mg ms contin ? ## Hello, Rae! How are you? No, you will not be able to switch out some of the pills to try to fool them. All prescription tablets have unique markings to enable their identification an...
Hi all...I have several bone fragments in my upper vertebrae from an auto accident 22 years ago (passenger) and more recently (2008) hit as a pedestrian and suffering from 8/9 mm disc bulges L5/S1 and 4th concussion 3 months ago. My lower back is obviously the worst area and I'm in the 8-9 "pain range" (severe/unbearable) on a daily basis. My GP had me on 12 10/325 Norco (APAP nightmare) for all of my chronic pain. We've tried numerous thing over the years but to no avail. The Norco was the only treatment within his realm of expertise (or what he was willing to keep me on w/out changing meds and upping my dose) that I believe he felt comfortable with. Forgot to mention that I had both epidural and facet IV's, PT and chiro, all with very short-acting results. Now, my ...
I was wheelchair-bound & in constant, horrific pain for eight years despite 2 lumbar surgeries & a C-spine surgery. After my last lumbar surgery, a year in a nursing home with an excellent physical therapist and the right medication my pain was under control...I could finally get out of bed after 8 yrs, walk a half mile, live a relatively normal life...I was even considering a part-time job eventually. This was when I lived in California. 2 yrs ago I moved to Mountain Home AR to be with my sister. I immediately tried finding a doctor here but there was no one willing to help me. When I ran out of the meds I brought from California, I went through severe withdrawal, & back to the unbearable chronic pain for which I considered suicide many times. When Dr. Chatman & Tilley ...
My dr. had me take a pain medication compliancy test. My prescribed pain meds tested were morphine {which is actually ms contin er prescribed} clonazepam and hydrocodone{noreco is the prescription}. My report listed no morphine-non compliant and hydomorphone was found. When called in to go over the results she told me I was not even taking my ms contin er and was selling it to by hydromorphone on the streets. She cut me from my pain medication but would not fire me and I'm on disability for 3 servere impairments: severe depression, sever anxiety with severe agorophobia and panic attacks severe enough I loose control of my hips, limbs and the ability to talk where I've ended up in the er by ambulance and degenerative dics diease and also had a part of my spinal cord fractured, 2 ...
I take ms contin. And immediate release morphine, soma, and xanax, prednisone, gabapentin. 10 years of never failing a drug test and have failed two in two months. First positive for hydrocodone, haven't taken it in years, next month for tramadol, which I had never even heard of. I'm starting to get worried, not only of losing my pain clinic, but that something may be wrong with my liver, kidneys or pancreas. As I am also a diabetic. Hard to be called a liar at 63 years old.
UpdatedHas anyone in the chicagoland area been receiving prescriptions of both 100mg and 60mg BRAND (Purdue Pharma, L.P.) MsContin and thought they were not working as well as usual? I have also noticed a very strong salty taste to them along with their weight being off and weighing much lighter that ones I have got in past prescriptions. I am also experiencing this with BRAND (Purdue Pharma, L.P) Dilaudid 8mg tablets. They don't seem to be relieving my pain nearly as well and many have had a very strong salty taste to them. Does anyone have any advice? I have been filling them at Walgreens. My doctor made me change pharmacies b/c the small, independent pharmacy I was going to before wasn't putting all my Rx's into the IL RX Monitoring Database. The ONLY medication of mine I am gettin
UpdatedI don't remember where I saw that pill before. Can anyone identify it? ## I think they were 30mgs, usually the 15s are blue and the 30s are purple for the ms contin extended release, I think the manufacturer is malincrockt, There are 54 262s and 54 252s so they're might be some difference. I think someone told you they were 20s - people on these forums can be rookies sometimes
is ms contin and msir an effective combo for long term and breakthrough pain ## Hello, Babs! How are you? It can be effective, but it's really going to depend on the person's tolerance to narcotics and the severity of their pain. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have they been prescribed for you?
What is The Difference in a Big round peach color MS Contin 60 mg extended release and a Small round orange MS Contin 60 mg extended release are they same pills ## does MS Contin have an antagonist drug encapsulated in it to prevent misuse? I suffer from chronic pain from a severe back injury and My Generic MS Contin seems like it isn't working nearly at all! I had heard that the drug Nazis (D.E.A.) was making the manufacturers of Time Release narcotics put this in extended release drugs to save people from themselves. IF THIS IS TRUE IT IS A MORONIC IDEA as everyone has different PH levels that can open the antagonist drug prematurely. I can't take much more from those who know how much more I hurt than myself! I have never crushed up any pill but a chewable antiacid. Is the D....
Hello- I have just had to change my pain medications through a pain clinic due to losing my job. My question is that I went from taking Percocet 10/325 up to 8 times a day, & my doc switched me to MS Contin 60 mg, twice a day. Is this an equivalent dose? Thanks in advance. ## It is stronger. Be sure and take your first dose at least several hours before you have to drive or be alert because it may make you sleepy, even if the Percocet didn't ## Hello, Mich! How are you doing? Oxycodone is 1 and half times stronger than the Morphine. Taking 120mgs of the MS Contin per day means that you are on an equivalent dosage, once the effect of the Acetaminophen is factored in. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as naus...
I Take ms60 mg er, I know the pill Hell's up if crushed, however these pills are strong and really affect my breathing but work great for severe pain. My question is; can I cut the 60mg er pill in half without destroying the pill? I'm not snorting or shooting, would only like to take less at tines, especially before bed. Thanks.... ## I have done it successfully but after what I've read, that u can overdose by doing this and releasing all at once, I don't recommend it. The most prudent thing to do is get in to see dr right away and explain to him; he could prescribe 30 mg tablets. They go down to 15 I think. Whatever u do , don't tell your dr about considering cutting them! Mine yanked me off when he found out I'd been cutting them to cut down. PS a pharmacist to...
which is better for severe pain following surgery? Have been on 100 mg ms contin er tid plus oxycodone 10/325 5/day for severe pain. having knee surgery and Dr switched me to 15mg oxycodone 6/day. somehow I feel like I am really going to be in pain. ## Hello, Foxy! How are you? Yes, the amount of Oxycodone you've been prescribed isn't equal to the amount MS Contin you were taking. That's only 90mgs a day and you'd need 133.33mgs to equal 200mgs of MS Contin. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. But how bad is your pain? After successful surgery, it should slowly start to improve and you shouldn't continually need the higher doses, you sh...
WHAT HAPPENS IF I SPLIT THE PILL IN HALF ## My doctor prescribed 60 MG tablets and told me to cut them in half if I need 90 mg. I din't think much about it, but after reading the information on MS Contin, I am worried that it may be dangerous to cut them in half. I've been doing it for about 5 days and have not noticed any problems with cutting them in half but I will call the pharmacy tomorrow and ask him. ## Is it in order to break GP1 glimepride into two to reduce the dosage to 0.50mg.Will it cause any problem and whether any reduction in effectivenes of the tablet will be possible. ## I have done it for a while to cut down, and a pharmacist said I could. No problems. But my dr got furious when I told him, and I have read on Internet now not to. But the pills I take are solid...

Thank you for your time , tifani klaveano ## Have you talked to your doctor about something you can use for this breakthrough pain? In many cases, such as yours, an immediate release medication is also prescribed to be taken as needed, for these times of breakthrough pain. The normal options are an immediate release Morphine: or OxyIR, which is an immediate release Oxycodone: ## I am a 38 year old male who just had a knee replacement . I was not in an accident, my kneee just deteriorated. I am in St. Louis...
still trying to find a pain management doctor in Pinellas County Florida that will accept my United Healthcare Community Plan insurance. I find a ton of sites that say yes to the doctors accept UHC but then I call and everybody has dropped them, I found out that because of Obamacare United has lost a contract with the government of some kind, so I don't know if this is temporary or permanent can anyone help?
UpdatedThis pill has no crush protection ( ms contine ER) ect... Can it be cut in quarters and used with Oxicontine 30 mg ## Can swim take the purple er protection of a 30 mg MS Contin, cut it in quarters and swallow it. That's only 7.5 a quarter what's the prob. ## I'm not a doctor, but logically, it does make sense to do the math first so you know exactly what you're taking and how you're taking it (if you plan on dividing it up). In that sense, I don't see any harm being done personally. However, when it comes to extended-release medications, I wouldn't recommend tampering with them at all. This is just my own personal preference for safety reasons. It's just not worth the risk to me, since you never really know how it's going to effect you until you try i...
Hi all...I was recently referred by my PCP to a PDoc and had my 1st appr. 2 days ago. I have questions regarding the "appropriate" and "inappropriate" quid pro quo between my new physician and my continued chronic pain management. I've been a A LOT of different pain meds, as I'm sure most of us have, but most recently switched from Norco 10/325 x 12day to MS Contin 15mg SR 2x/day along with Norco 10's 8x/day. Question: My next appt. isn't for 27 days and I'm receiving NO relief from the Morphine whatsoever. So, should I make a "pain log" until next appt. and address the effectiveness (or lack thereof) then, or send the Dr. a message via his online patient portal now? ## Hi Bothgop, Sorry to hear that the morphine hasn't been working for yo...
I have been on 100mg MS Contin 2X day for close to 10 years. What would be the best substitute and what MG. ## The most likely one to switch to would Oxycontin, it's over one and a half times stronger than Morphine. So, to equal each 100mgs dose of MS Contin, you'd need about 67mgs of Oxycontin. That's not available as an actual dosage, so your doctor would need to adjust accordingly, either a few milligrams higher or lower, depending on your tolerance. Learn more Oxycontin details here. What others have you tried?
