I was wondering if i could add perkocet to fake urin and pass the test. ## Question? I go to a pain clinic and I get methadone and narco well I don't take the narco but I take the methadone, I took my urine which had methadone in it and mixed with someone's urine that only contained the hydrocodone, WILL I BE OK ON MY DRUG SCREEN? By mixing the 2 urines together?# I'm praying #GODwatchoverme
I'm on hydrocodone 7.5 and my doctor also gave me MS Contin 60mg CR.. If I completely stop my hydrocodone will I have any withdrawals while taking the MS Contin CR as prescribed? 1 a day.. Or can I take 2 MS Contin per day?? ## Hello, Heather! How are you? You should only take it as prescribed, so if your doctor has noted once daily, then you shouldn't exceed that, without their approval. Hydrocodone and Morphine are equivalent on a one to one ratio, so no, you shouldn't experience any withdrawals on the 60mg dose. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
First I'll just say that I will try to describe this very difficult situation simply as I can. I'm 54 years old I've done construction and maintenance most of my entire adult life. I had spinal fusion surgery in 2005. I had blown out my back way before 2005 but that was a result of my heavy lifting and going up and down stairs a thousand times a day and just doing heavy construction wheelbarrows full of cement. and just all phases of construction. also I had rotator cuff injury which resulted in not one but two arterial bypass surgeries won the first being a plastic type thing that was installed in my arm elbow and shoulder which year later it failed so either cut my arm off because it's not working anymore or remove the arterial vein in my left leg from my knee to my gr...
I was wondering how many MS Contin 30 mg pills would it take to overdose a 100 pound female that has a high tolerance for pain pills? ## Dear Coon lady, It's difficult to tell if your intention actually IS to overdose... OR if you're just trying to be extra cautious about taking too many at once and over stepping your boundaries due to having a higher tolerance? I hope it's the latter of the two. And if it is, my suggestion would be that you shouldn't take any more than prescribed if you're trying to play it safe. In the event that you do need something stronger to relieve the pain, that would be something to discuss with your doctor in more detail. I know there are higher doses of MS Contin available (60mg and 100mg respectively). But if none of that applies and you...
Does anyone have Humana prescription insurance through disability? My Humana will only pay for 2 long acting pain meds which are MS Contin and fentanyl patches...I've tried the patches and I have a severe allergic reaction to them as they cause itching and burning to my skin and the Morphine ER doesn't seem to work at all. They cover the short acting pain meds no problem it's just the long acting. Even a prior authorization from the doctor won't get any others covered? ## What dosage of the MS Contin are you taking? You may need to speak to your doctor about raising it. The FDA lists Morphine as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Alternative...
I really need some advice here. I am a cancer patient with a rare tumor. I have taken OxyContin 60MG and OxyCodone 5MG for breakthrough for over 10 years. My DR and I agree it is time to try other medications as I need more pain relief. I do not yet know how many MG he will prescribe for any of these medications. I realize that it would be easier to help answer my questions but any input in general I appreciate. He has given me 3 different meds to choose from: Ms Contin , Morphine & Methadone. Hoping to get others opinions on these. Whether it's regarding pain relief, side effects, etc. Whether it's just about the medication or about in comparison to my current pain meds. I think he will keep me on the 5mg Oxycodone for breakthroughs ( although not positive. ) ANY and ALL th...
I just moved to Fredericksburg/DC Metro area of Virginia from Florida. I have severe chronic spinal pain from bulging lumbar discs, bone spurs, spinal stenosis and scoliosis (in mid/upper spine). My doctor that was treating me in FL had me on 60mg MS Contin 2xday and 10mg Percocet 4xday. Which makes it able for me to function with a lowered amount of pain. I went through 3 other doctors over the years that prescribed too little or too much before I found him. I would like to find a doctor/pain clinic that will prescribe me the same or similar in/around the Fredericksburg/DC Metro area of Virginia as opposed to having to drive back to my Florida doctor every month. Does anyone know of any in these areas?
UpdatedAm looking for a new pain management doctor who is willing to prescribe ms contin and/or norco 10mg. I suffer from chronic pain: polymyalgia rheumatica, migraines, osteoarthritis, etc and am in need of these to get out of bed. The pain is debilitating. I live near Schaumburg,Illinois. Any suggestions especially from personal experience would be appreciated.
UpdatedHow much 200 mg ms contin equals 120mg oxycodone? Also if 90mg oxycodone is taken in the morning then 2 more 30mg pills thru the day how would that be equated with 200mg ms contin for ALL DAY RELIEF? ## Oxycodone is one a half times stronger than Morphine, so for each 120mgs of it that you were taking, you'd need 180mgs of Morphine to be equivalent. So, you'd need 135mgs of Morphine to equal the 90mgs of Oxycodone and 45mgs of Morphine to equal each of the 30mgs Oxycodone tablets, for a total of 225mgs of Morphine to be equivalent. The FDA classifies these medications as being narcotic analgesics, so they carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
I'm so sick and tired of being looked at as some hippie freak who is addicted to MS contin. Every month it's the same dam thing, stop what your doing, call this doctor and maybe get a response then wait until he feels like making out a script, then drive to a doctors office, take a piss test then you get to take the prescription to the pharmacy. If I knew my retired years was going to be like this ..... ## give me your e-mail ## You should consider yourself lucky that you don't live in Indianapolis. Just last June I had an major surgury, a vein replacement. I was cut from my groin to just before my ankle, and it is still very painful, yet my doctor tells me that my pain should be gone and will not prescribe me any more 5mg Oxycodone. Not that it done any good in the first pl...
Why are different sizes of pill ms contyn , same milligrams ## Hello, Walt! How are you? Without knowing the imprint on them, I can't tell you any specifics about them. However, if they are valid prescriptions from your pharmacy, so you know that no mistake has occurred, then it is likely just due to different manufacturers using different fillers, which can change the size of the pills. There is a list of FDA approved inactive ingredients that they can choose from, they aren't required to use the same as any other manufacturer, as long as their pills are proven to work, such as being time released like they are supposed to be. This medication is listed as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizzines...
I have had 3 back surgeries including a spinal stimulator along with 4 hip scopes. I have yet to find a med that helps. I was on fentyal 50mmg then was switched to 30mg MS Contin. I think fentyal was better but I am only the patient. I was on 7.5 percocet for almost 3 years and feel I built up tolerance. My wife says I have a high tolerance for medications with low tolerance of pain. Stimulator doesn't help anymore as it doesn't control region of pain. I see doctor on tuesday and don't know what to do. I feel may be treated as med seeker. I have lived with chronic pain for over 4 years and want some relief. ## My doctors have switched me back to 25mmg fentyal and 25 mg morphine 2x a day and I had my stimulator reprogramed. I have some relief but it still affects my activity ...
how can i find the ms contin that is not generic? it does not work for me and the last few months i have had trouble finding it. ## Hello, Donna! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. If your doctor has written the prescription for you as 'brand medically necessary' or whatever the equivalent is in your state, your pharmacy should be able to order it in for you. The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have you tried asking your pharmacist?
Help please! I have been to every pharmacy I can think of in Las Vegas to try to have my MS Contin 15mg filled and all just say tthatit is back ordered. Even my regular pharmacies (Walgreens and CVS) have been less than helpful, saying only "maybe we will have it in a week" (and that was a week ago)! Thankfully, I started trying to find this 2 weeks before my meds ran out but now rx expires in 2 days! Thanks to anyone who might be able to help!
UpdatedI have 42 pieces of metal in my back and am disabled and need help paying for the ms contin my doctor put me on for extended pain relief ## Hello, George! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. However, since MS Contin is currently available as a generic, as approved by the FDA, there aren't any assistance programs available for it, because generics are cheaper by their very nature. There is a drug discount card link on each page of this site. It is free to print and use, so that might help to make it cheaper. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Alternatively, you could try asking your pharmacy which ones they accept and which would save y...
A friend of mine recently told me that she had been prescribed 30mg of MS Contin but opted for the generic Morphine Sul as it was cheaper and was the same as MS Contin but while researching the above med she found that this med also contained both morphine and oxycodone . This didn't make sense to me because if any combination of meds would or could be found in the name brand or generic wouldn't it be more likely that it would be morphine and oxycontin since the name brand does have the word Contin in it ? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated . ## Your friend's information is incorrect. MS Contin contains solely the narcotic Morphine in a time released formulation, the generics are the same. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming a...
I cant see that morphine 15 mg does anything for me. I was taking 40 mg oxcontin twice a day and something else for breakthrough pain. Since going on medicare supplement insurance I can't get the oxycontin through the company. I was taking dilaudid for the breakthrough pain but living, in Florida, I can't find it at all here. Does Oxcodone do as good as the morphine? I don't know that I can even get that here though. They have cracked down so much on what is dispensed in Florida that any meds is hard to get. Thanks for answering. ## Hello, Jeanne! How are you? I think the problem may be with the dosage of the MS Contin that you're on. Oxycodone is stronger, so for each 40mgs of it that you were taking, you'd need 60mgs of the MS Contin to be equivalent in analgesic e...
I had some old ms contin. I rotated to another Medication. I took a 20mg by accedent. how log will it take to metabolize out? ## Hello, Mike! How are you? What other medication are you taking? Unless there is some interaction between it and the Morphine, there really should be nothing to worry about. This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, constipation and drowsiness.
My friend gave me five 5 mg blue ms contin. She has sense found out they count your meds. Is there anything that looks similar ? ## Hi rae, Unfortunately for your friend there are no OTC meds that resemble this description enough to convince a medical professional that it's the real deal; and that's because no two pills share the same marking, physical description, shape, and/or size. I don't like to encourage anyone to lie, as no one should be taking anyone else's prescription like that. But if she can't accept her mistake she might want to say that she accidentally dropped or spilled them down the drain...for lack of a better excuse. None the less, she'll have to come up with some quick savvy talking to explain the missing pills. I just wouldn't recommend a...
Please help. My friend gave me five of these meds. We didnt know her doc was going to count them. Does anyone know of a otc that may pass. Thanks ## No two meds look the same. When drs offices do pill counts, they know what the pills are suppose to look like. If any of the pills are different, they will call the pharmacy to verify that two different brands were used to fill the rx. ## So there is nothing i can do to try ? ## If the dr won't do a tox report the same day they do the pill count, she can take only 1 pill a day for 5 days to be sure she has enough for the count. But, it won't be pleasant for her. ## Does anyone know of an otc that looks like 15 mg ms contin ? ## @Rae, Sorry to hear about your situation. BL is right though... Unfortunately there's really not much ...
