Lyrica Lawsuit (Page 9)

Updated

Does anyone know if there is an ongoing lawsuit against the company who puts out Lyrica? I am a mess from it. Do we have a leg to stand on when it comes to the side effects they found out from people like us? I am a long termer. I have been taking 900 mg since 2005. Is there anyone representing us? Thank you

I know of one attorney, he is in Wyoming, James Fitzgerald, who won a big lawsuit against the manufacturers of Paxil. I think his phone number is 307-742-4000. If that's wrong, you can look him up on wyomingbar.org

Perhaps he could do a class action lawsuit and represent all of those that have been injured by this drug.

Good luck to all!

Regarding the last two posts, I did, early on, send a link to this page to the host of a radio show I listen to daily. The show is called The Power Hour (not to be confused with The Hour of Power which is the religious show) hosted by Joyce Riley on the Genesis Communications Network. The show concerns itself largely with political issues, but also addresses health issues and how they can be dealt with naturally, with alternatives to pHARMaceutical poisons. I was disappointed to have not heard back from Ms. Riley, as this show appears to be very oriented towards tackling the problems of the powerless individuals, such as ourselves. I would have thought that, with her multitude of connections and vehement opposition to the damage that is done to Americans by the pHARMa criminals, Ms. Riley would be able to connect us to an attorney with the courage to take on the evil corporation and individuals that have done us such harm. Perhaps if she started getting emails from more of us, it might become more of a priority. I honestly thought she'd have been more interested.

Maybe some of us could listen to the program and come up with some input about whether they agree that Ms. Riley might be able to hook us up with someone who can help. The program airs Monday through Friday for three hours, beginning at, I believe, 7:00 AM CST, but the network home page has access to archives of all the programs, so one wouldn't have to be up to listen to the program live. I personally am not enough of a morning person to be up at 5:00 in the morning, my time zone, to listen to the live broadcast, which also includes calls from listeners.

Oops! Forgot to mention, I listen to the streaming version of the program on my computer, and so I have no idea what radio stations carry it. Sorry.

Hello,
I am 28 years old and suffered a nerve injury after being strangled by a patient almost three years ago. I was on Lyrica for about a year and was noticing some side effects. I was on so much other mediation though that I was not sure which medication was causing the side effects. I started developing stains (decay) at my gum line and it increased from one tooth to about fourteen in less than a year. I talked to my doctor about this and he said that he had never heard of anything like that. I then talked to my grandfather, who is a dentist, and told him that I was on Lyrica which can also be used to treat seizures. He said that any drug associated with seizures has the potential to cause tooth problems. I went off the drug and within a month my stains stopped spreading. I am probably going to have to have about 5 teeth worked on now (I have several tiny holes) and am disgusted by this. I saw that a few other people had mentioned teeth problems and I would really like to know if any one else has had these problems. Please let me know if you do!!! I would really like to be able to tell my doctor that I am not crazy!!

Rachel- You are definitely NOT crazy! Read the back posts, that's how I found out my tooth problems stemmed from Lyrica. I have completely lost 2 teeth & have had about 40 little cavities in the last 3 years. Not to mention all this exacerbated my TMJ. I'm well over $5,000 in mouth problems quoyert 11,from this sick drug.

Rachel - same thing happened to me. I went to the dentist and they thought that the decay was from Acid Reflux because after being off of Lyrica for 6 months the dentist nor myself never thought of it being Lyrica that destroyed all of my bottom teeth. Now I have my bottom teeth capped....

Rachel, I lost almost all my teeth, I had 10,000 work done which I still owe my dentist. My injury wa a workmans comp cseand I had my doctor as well as my dentit write letters about a condition called Xterioior, the spelling is not right, but it is condition frommes that cause lack of saliva. I thought that with these kind of ltters from professionals that OWCP would have covered it. As of now they still are denying it. Lyrica and the otherrugsdefintley contributed to my dntal problems. So you are right. I ahve but given up callingthese lawyers, noone wants to get involved. I guess maybe one of thse days someone will take a closer look at a serious stuation wit this drug alled LYRICA

Hi,

I'm 19 years old now and was on Lyrica for 7-9 months between 2008 and 2009 to treat my fibromyalgia which I have had symptoms for since I was 5. My rheumatologist told me that I would have to take it for a year or two (which was a lie) and eventually my pain would go away forever. I knew this was false, however, I was desperate to get rid of my pain which made me collapse on a daily basis. I began taking it and for several months it seemed okay because my pain was numbed. However, 5 months in, I began to notice a severe change in my mood that made me extremely depressed and my pain began to return. My rheumatologist doubled my dosage and I was taking Lyrica 2 times a day now. About 2 months later, my pains began to return with a higher severity than before I started taking Lyrica. Eventually, I got impatient and quit the medicine. I didn't even tell my doctor because I was so frustrated with her. Eventually, I started to notice small side affects a few weeks after quitting. I couldn't think straight, I would be talking to someone and suddenly I would forget what I was talking about completely. I forget simple words used in everyday sentences. I have acid reflux, so I've had a few cavities here and there all my life. Since starting Lyrica, almost every one of my teeth has a cavity or a visible hole, I've had 2 root canals and I need several more, one of my molars has cracked and I need an implant for that, etc. The biggest side effects that I experience everyday is that I feel like I've suddenly become stupid. I can't figure out simple situations or answer simple questions anymore. Someone will say something to me and the rest seems muffled (like they're putting their hand over their mouth) and what I do hear I don't always understand. It's almost as if my common sense doesn't exist anymore. I stutter alot, I have dyslexia symptoms (I was tested when I was little and it was concluded that I did not have it), I have a relapse of my brain (I'll say, I went went went went to the store instead of I went to the store) I'll say something to someone, which seems comprehensible to me, but will be jibberish or a mix of words I didn't mean to even say. My hands and feet don't always feel pain either (I've stepped on a curling iron and didn't realize and got almost a 3rd degree burn, my hand will get cut and I won't realize it until I see the blood). My fiancee, who was with me before, during and after my experience with Lyrica has noticed changes in my behaviour, attitude, speech and thought process.

I don't even know what to do anymore about this. One of my family friends has told me that I could be apart of a class action lawsuit or any lawsuit for that matter to get compensation. I would like to be apart of one, if there is one going on. This medicine has hurt me for life and it is not fair that at such a young age I have to live like this forever. I am very fortunate that I have a man like my fiancee to help me through it, though. He helps me through school and always makes sure that I am on track with what I am speaking about, writing about, or doing.

From what I've read on the internet on news websites, the man who was conducting research on Lyrica and several other medicines faked his data and results. I have been cheated, as well as anyone else who has suffered from this medicine, and something should be done about it.

Rae, It is very sad that someone your age has to go through this alond with everything else you have gone through. Fibro is hard enough on an older person, I can't imagine having to deal with it as a child. My best friends daughter had it as a child also. These idiot lawyers don't know a good thing when they have it. I have gone through exactly the same things you have gone through. Except I seriously tried to end my life. Thank God he had other plans for me, so I am still here. I just got another rejection phone call and letter from Crumbly/Roberts law firm. I think this is like the 5th one. I see all these adds for lawyers who take on drug companies so I don't understand what it is about this drug company that lawyers don't want to go up against them. But we have to keep trying. It isn't fair that they can get away with this. Best of luck to you and Thank God for your fiancee..

Found this website tonight - what an eye-opener - due to pulmonary TB and lots of complications after 3 operations I was on Neurontin - Trepiline - Tegretol and now Lyrica +/- 2 Years - Lost all my top teeth - eye sight is still 100% - sex drive is down - pain 80% down - it works better with a few whiskeys - will have my second DREZ lesion op in 2 weeks time - (Neuro on the spine) to lesson the pain. Scared as hell after reading all these Lyrica topics. Suicide has been on my mind as the pain is too much. I live in South Africa and our Legal System is corrupt. If you could assist please answer this comment. Regards to all

My father lost his hearing immediately after starting Lyrica. He also immediately started wheezing within moments of taking the drug for diabetic neuropathy. Within weeks he was hospitalized from these breathing problems, which doctors also found that the Lyrica was not being metabolized properly because dad had kidney / urinary system cancer. This caused his potassium levels to skyrocket and harm his heart. He was dead within a couple more weeks.
