Lyrica Lawsuit (Page 71)

Does anyone know if there is an ongoing lawsuit against the company who puts out Lyrica? I am a mess from it. Do we have a leg to stand on when it comes to the side effects they found out from people like us? I am a long termer. I have been taking 900 mg since 2005. Is there anyone representing us? Thank you

Although it is very sad to hear of the problems your wife has encountered it gives me some comfort in knowing that I am not going mad. I have been on it for two years since my accident and it is very hard for people not very close to understand how much this changes you. I have gone from being a network engineer and project manager to a housewife and cannot even be trusted to use sharp knives . I get significant palpitations, shortness of breath and most recently got so dizzy I fell and broke my foot. I am not sure what life holds for me but I have made my peace with God and am ready to go when ever I have to now. There is no fight left. So be it.

Dear Amaranth thanks for sharing your story and understanding my wife's experience. After reading your story I feel I must suggest you seek alternative help by getting as many medical opinions as necessary to replace this awful medication. For having dealt with this problem for as long as you have, you show great strength and courage and I encourage you to not give up the fight. I pray for your continued strength in this fight and that you find real resolution that leads you back to full health.

Hi Red,
It helped me a great deal too. But now after 6 years I can't think well, I'm always in a fog, I can't remember names, or faces, or lyrics to my favorite songs. When someone gives me some a phone number or address I often write it down backwards. I WAS a writer now I have difficulty with spelling, grammar and sentence structure. I have no creativity. It's terrible, terrible. I can't plan meals very well or a trip to the grocery store. I have terrible anxiety. I went from being a pushover to fighting with everyone. I can't even tell how difficult it has been to go from 300mg to 200mg. I tapered down but still my nerves are always on edge. Give Lyrica time and it will destroy your life. I have no doubt.

For the last year , I have had extrem burning of my legs, extrem mussel pain and loss of balance, sometimes falling. Tingling and numbness in lag's and face( mostly left side) . Poor eye sight, and fatigue . Stuttering , very bad ! Have been on 50 mg of Lyrica 2 times a day for several years. . Can this medicine be causing my problems ? Please, can someone help me with this. ? Been to several doctors, nuerlogist and they keep telling me it's fibro , MS or MSA. After reading all these message's I'm thinking it's the Lyrica !

Those of us posting on here are not Doctors, we are having very similar symptoms or worse. My symptoms are very much like yours and I was on 50mg of Lyrica 3 times aday. My worst times are at night trying to go to sleep. The pain in hands and legs cause me to get severe anxiety. I never had this till I was put on lyrica. I started using Medical Marijuana to get relief.

I had several interactions. I couldnt keep my eyes open, objects were moving. Dilarious. Angry, agitation, anxiety. Vomiting, diarrhea, high like state to the point of being toxic. The vomiting and anger has subsided for the most part. It has been maybe two weeks or a lil more, I stopped cold turkey. I am very anxious and at times can't hold a conversation bc I forget what I'm saying. All day I'm nautious and am dry heaving. Extreme tiredness which didn't start until the side effects. I am going 4-5 days without one minute of sleep. How can this med be perscribed. Will this stop?

I was put on lyrica in 2007 for restless leg syndrome at first I thought it was gonna help some but after a year of taking it I noticed problems I was having that I never had before a lot of stomach problems and passing blood in stool I had to go to the er one night because I was throwing up blood they sent me know or a upper gi and found out I had bleeding ulsers I was put on some meds to help with them. I still have problems today with my stomach and nerve damage in my legs I don't think my health will ever be the same.

Hi Vicky,

No unfortunately no one has the backbone to fight the company..... this took my life for 15 minutes as I attempted suicide and had no knowledge of doing so.... I've now lost all contact with my 2 boys and am treated like a psycho. I'm in australia and there is no one here to fight it.... But if anyone reading this from wherever in the world if you find a lawyer PLEASE let me know so I can join any class action.

Hi Vicky

My husband suddenly passed away at the age of 40 from what i believe to be his pain medication and Lyrica being the bulk of it. I'm still awaiting autopsy results but he suffered so bad with the side effects of lyrica - weight gain, loss of memory, swelling in his face, eyes, dry mouth, itchiness. You name it he got it. He has left behind me and my 3 year old son and I'm also pregnant with twins and will be due in March. I am on a mission to prove the dangers of these painkiller medications as I believe it killed my husband. I am looking at legal options with a lawyer so please feel free to reach out to me as I'm also based in Australia. Thanks.

I had a real bad experience with lyrica. It caused me to go into a cardiac arrest, hallucinating, heart racing, panic attacks and I couldn't breath. Yes ma'am keep in contact with me. {edited for privacy}.

So Lyrica and Neurontin are very close to the same but Lyrica (Pregabalin) is just a more powerful and expensive version of the 2. So I started Lyrica about 10 years ago and took a low dose here and there daily. So over the last 3 years my pain issues have increased therefor I am on a steady dose 150mg 2 times daily. Well for lack of a better way to put it...I'm screwed royally. I can't get off of the crap to save my life! The withdrawals are HORRID. I would have NEVER started a drug that I would become decent on and/or addicted to. I lost a job because I ran out of Lyrica and didn't call them in on time and had to wait 3 days for my refill! I was deathly ill at work and I left my job and left all of my coworkers in a really bad spot!! So I felt so awful about that I never returned! 2 years ago I went INPATIENT for a couple of weeks and couldn't handle the withdrawals. I mean this was with them loading me up on detox drugs that make you comfortable in a situation like that! So yea.. It was a living hell. The Drs and all other staff had NEVER heard one thing about Lyrica being addictive and they just put me back on it and sent me home almost 3 weeks into this. So I have nowhere to turn. I feel hopeless. I don't even want to be without the stuff. It helps my pain, my anxiety, my depression! It makes me feel normal. If I miss one dose the withdrawals kick in. 50% of the time I don't remember to take my afternoon dose until I almost puked from the intense stomach issues! So what the heck can I do! I need some relief. I AM SO FRICKIN MAD THAT I wasn't told or educated about this. I AM SO SORRY ABOUT YOUR husband. I would definitely demand some answers! I am going to list the problems and side effects that I experience.

Water retention (swelling in ankles, hand, face)
Weight gain
Blurry vision (bad)
Withdrawals if I miss a dose
Horrible pin prickly sensations
Thrashing when I am trying to sleep to get away from the weird ache and sensation in my hand,feet and legs. I have to shake my arms and legs violently to escape the feeling
Nausea
Vomiting
Anxiety
Depression
Heart palpitations
Weakness
Fatigue coupled with Insomnia (that's a lot of fun!)
Feelings of something crawling on me (tickling sensations)
Pain
Involuntary kerning of hands
on and on............but these are the unbearable ones

HELP! I MEAN, WHERE CAN I TURN? Like I said...the drs, pharmacists and all medical staff know absolutely nothing about this!

Well I am so SO SORRY for yout great, immense loss! Absolutely horrible!
If you don't mind doing me asking what kind of meds was he taking and did he have some serious underlying health problens? Reason I am asking is I've always thought that is what killed her was her super strong drugs she was on for pain AND anx I ty

Hi Sondre. I'm so sorry to hear that. I am just so angry with the pharmaceutical companies and medical professionals who continue ignore the pleas of help from their patients. I will not give up until I get justice for my husband. Where are you based?

Sweetie don't give up. It sucks but we have to fight. I just started taking it about a month ago and have this coughing wheezing and shortness of breath. I have to call Dr. To figure out what to do. Stay strong.

Hi Heather,

I'm in Australia and I cannot find anyone game enough to fight it in court. But believe me when I say "They all know about it, it is just that they will not state it as this would force them into court". My doctor just took one look at me (after I had tried to commit suicide due to the drug and was found dead in my car in bush land and have no memory of the whole incident) and said "OH MY GOD YOU HAVE HAD THE WORSE REACTION TO LYRICA". My partner at the time was there with me and heard the whole thing and once we started to question him as to W.T.F do you mean? he said straight away "I will never repeat what I just said as I am not prepared to go to court"..... EVERYONE doesn't believe it accept my surgeon and Pain Specialist have now put it in writing, but NO lawyer has the guts to start any legal action. You can even go to Lyrica.com and it states it on the home page that it has severe side effects. And when I have mentioned this site all other doctors laugh it off and say we are all full of s*** and all we are trying to do is get money so therefore sadly even though we all know too well what we are saying is true..... we will never be heard.

You should first start with your DOCTOR with the lawsuit because according to my GP the legal daily dose should not exceed 600 mg.
