Lyrica Lawsuit (Page 66) (Top voted first)
UpdatedDoes anyone know if there is an ongoing lawsuit against the company who puts out Lyrica? I am a mess from it. Do we have a leg to stand on when it comes to the side effects they found out from people like us? I am a long termer. I have been taking 900 mg since 2005. Is there anyone representing us? Thank you
After hearing about #1181, from Kerry, of September 10, 2014, I'm wondering if Lyrica is what caused me to have Erosive Gastritis, after undergoing a colonoscopy, because my stomach was burning like fire all the time, now I'm on another pill for that for my lifetime. It seems like I've had EVERY side effect there is to this drug. I'm also waiting for that TV ad that says, "If you or a loved one have been harmed by taking Lyrica, call the number 800-...-... we are just left hanging here, no one is there to help take our case. I quit taking it on my own, after reading all these comments from the users of Lyrica.
People look at blog 1181 follow the thread in there. I did and they want to hear from you, do contact any other site or blog or wherever people ate talking about Lyrica and its side effects. If we can band together maybe something can be done. Look at blog 1181. It contains useful information. Good luck to you all.
yes there are lawsuits against pfizer and the drug lyrica due to the side effects
Where? I lost my job in 2007 because of Lyrica. Is there a statute of limitations?
Hi all! I wonder if any of the problems I'm hearing here are a result of large doses or if this is happening regardless of dose? Please comment on what strength you are taking so I know whether to start worrying...even more! I'm taking 200mg and still experience some pain, but am trying not to increase it. Thanks for this site and for all your messages so that we can be aware!
You are already @ a dose that can do damage if you are on long enough. See if your doctor will prescribe another drug for your pain. I am taking Tylenol #3 for my pain which is helping me. I take it 3x a day and the only side effect I've experienced is, originally I would get a little sleepy, but that wears off after a while.
i was on lyrica going on 3 weeks and then was rushed to the hospital and were in icu for 13 days because lyica were shuting my throat up,i was on a ventilator for 5 days while I was in there.someting need to be done about this.it is so strange that you hear about simple stuff and you can sue but when it come to your health you can't do a thing.so I say to new people on lyrica to watch out because you don't know your throat is swelling til its to late.u was lucky god was there
Wow, just did a search to see if my symptoms were related to Lyrica and now that I've found this site, I'm a bit scared! This has been the only thing that has helped my excruciating pain at only 200mg/daily, but now I'm worried! I really didn't start getting bad until recently. I forget where to get off the freeway and I've been there over a hundred times. I'm starting to feel nauseous and faint headaches. Brain damage?! YIKES! Guess it's time to return to the Dr, but I'm not sure she'll believe me!
Hi Sherry , have been following these threads for some time and from what i have read Lyrica causes permanent damage with doses as low as 25 mg per day for 2 weeks . there is no safe dosage but my son was permanently damaged when his dose hit 75 mg x 4 per day for about 1. week .
I just started this drug 2 days ago and I feel like I'm dying!!! All my teeth hurt feels like they are being jerked on, never had pain like this! I'm so dizzy and nauseous too. Thank you for posting about your tooth pain I had a feeling this damn pill was the culprit!
If you have a good Dr. He must believe you! I went off COLD TURKEY! I literally had to keep a wet rag over my eyes for over 24 hrs as the room was spinning so fast around me! The projectile vomiting was EVERYWHERE! The mental terror was beyond human possibility but it was real! I remember wondering if anyone ever died from being scared to DEATH ( and I thought panic attacks were bad) ha! But thank God it's over! I just could not see putting any more of this poison into my body and brain! Must say I was in NO PAIN AND OR SIDE EFFECTS AT 25mg 3 times a day, it only got emotionally bad after upping dose after hospital stay and use for other nerve pain. Wondering if a very low dose would be ok?! But I tend to forget the hell I went thru! I must HAVE TO BLOCK IT OUT or I continue to re-live! I must have been a mess to go thru the hell of cold turkey!
I went cold turkey myself. I'm an ex- nurse and ex- respiratory therapist. I stayed in bed had good close by and a bathroom and I also kept a phone close by just in case something went wrong. Afrw years earlier I was put on a drug that I did not need and was interacting with the ones I was taking. The neurologist and he was also a psychiatrist said to get off it cold turkey because if I continued to take it I would never get off it and also I did not need it. So when I went cold turkey with Lyrica I remembered what he said, I went cold turkey. There was one problem my doctor who had prescribed it wanted me to taper off the drug. I ignored her advice and remembered what the other doctor had said. Do I got off the drug completely. The hospital I worked for found out what I did and reprimanded me and said I could not be trusted to take care of patients. They put me on a six month probation and at the end of the probation they fired me after 29 years because they said I could not handle the work. I had to give up a job I dearly loved and every hospital within an hour's drive I applied for and no one hired me. Even a 100 bed hospital said I was underqualified eve though I had worked at a 600 bed Trauma II hospital. I was blackballed, just because I went cold turkey. I have gone back to school to learn to be medical receptionist or secretary. The only thing because of Lyrica, I having a lot of trouble remembering things because of the short term memory loss I have from being on Lyrica.

I was looking at some of these comments regarding lyrica. Its so scary. I wish i would have known about all of them. My brother had been diagnosed with neuropathy. He told me he did not like the way it made him feel. Unfortunately after a few months of being on the medicine he committed suicide.
Oh Vicky, I realize your post was from 2010 ,so I really hope that your drs have done something supportive for you! This drug is a nightmare ,and I`ve only been on it 10 days! It`s aggravated my pain. caused me unbelievable side effects ,sharp pain thru my chest and ribs/horrible water retention ,and almost constant UTI Symptoms, and, generally feeling very unwell. (I KNOW it`s the Lyrica ,because nothing else has changed ,and I was ok before starting them).possibly I should be somewhat grateful these have been so pronounced, because by all accounts it`s very addictive as well, and horrible to try and come off!...Sending u hugs and feel good vibes, someone sure needs to be on top of this medication, and aware of how awful it can make us feel..x
Ruffian ,I`m so very sorry to hear about your brother. It seems not enough is known about these drugs before we are "subjected" to them. They did make me feel very anxious ,and tearful ,something my gp picked up on at our return appointment.I was lucky ,he listened ,and definitely said I should discontinue with them right away.
I hope you and your family have some kind of support system in your area ,it`s something which is needed ,not just by the victims ,but also their families. My prayers ,love and sympathies go out to you all..x
Nick & the happyheart, thank you so much for your support. It means the world to me. I just wish I could have been there for my brother.
There may be a time when they will pull it, but that will be years down the line. Back in the '80s there was a drug that was on the market for several years like Lyrica. It was called Zomax. They gave it to women as a post partum ( after giving birth) pain reliever , and it worked great. Then after the pain was gone, the doctors discontinued the prescription. Later on, like several months later, if these women came in with menstral pain they would prescribe Zomax. Well, one month after my oldest was 6 months old, I had terrible menstral pain and my GYN doctor prescribed Zomax. I hot the prescription filled. I took one pill and within 15 minutes I could feel my tongue swelling and my throat starting to close up. Luckily I was a nurse and I knew what was happening. I was going into anaphylactic shock. I was allergic to a medicine I had taken when my son was born. A neighbor was home and my family physician was 2 blocks away. I called him and he said to come right down. I yelled for my neighbor to come over to watch my son @ the same time as I got into my car to go to my doctor. I got there just in time. He gave me epinephrine and some other drugs. He kept me in one of his rooms in the back of his office and had his nurse look in on me every few minutes. I stayed there for 4 hours until he felt it was alright to send me home. He told me to get rid of the medication and he put me on some other pain medicine that had been around for ages ( they have since pulled that drug off the market about 2 years ago because some people had heart problems) About 4-5 years later they took Zomax off the market because too many women died of anaphylactic shock. The pharmaceutical company never got sued and they made lots of money on Zomax. Lyrica, which is @ least 10 times worse then Darvocet and 20 times worse than Lyrica got pulled. They will wait til they have made their money and Lyrica will quietly slip into the shadows and be pulled and no one will get anything. So, just say goodbye to your memory and bite the bullet because there will be no law suits. S.
