Lyrica Side Effects Results In Loss Of 13 Teeth (Page 7)
UpdatedI am the patient of a pain management physician because there is nothing else that can be done for my back other thantry to manage my pain. I have had 19 back surgeries, including rods, broken back and rods on right side. My last surgery was the insertion of two morphine pain pumps, which caused my body to reject the plastic or some component thereof. They also inserted two dual-lead dorsal column stimulators, and even though all four of these pumps worked successfully, my body also rejected come component in the stimulators as well. One of the largest problems, second only to the pain, was the fact that I had 5 deep wound that went all the way down to my rectus muscle in my stomach. I had a staph infection from the pump as well as the stimulator. It took 6 months of wound care from the pain pumo, and now I am left with the most hideous scar. Same problem with my back, Oh well....this was supposed to be about LYRICA! Since January 2005, my doctor placed me on Lyrica and I thank God for it, because it has helped a great deal with my pain, however, after having to make an appointment to see an oral surgeon to remove all my teeth because of the Lyrica, I am LIVID!! No one eluded to the fact that Lyrica cound cause my teeth to rot out of my head, when I had the most wonderful white straight teeth. I just celebrated my 46th birthday a little over a week ago and I am facing dentures right in the mouth! There out to be a disclaimer, of which there were one. I am a label reader, and read instructions implicitly. At any rate, that won't help the halth of my mouth at this point. Is there a class action law suit out there somewhere, that would at the very least pay for any dental work, or at least warn those in the future? BE WARNED! You deserve a right to be informed. Signed, Oh My Missing Teeth in Oklahoma!

Re: PFIZER BLOWS (# 12)
My front teeth were going CROOKED. I ended up having a full mouth of braces. After 2 1/2 years with braces, and $7,000.00. I am now 68 years old. I also called attorneys all over the place. They also took my name and number. I HOPE to hear from them before I die. It was HORRIBLE.
Re: Pat (# 2)
I have heard that also about Dentists having the highest suicide rates, divorce rates and kidney problems. The reason, I was told, is all the mercury vapors they inhale during the job and the toxicity of their environments at work.
I was put on Lyrics had to go to down to 50 mlg don't take it i just had all teeth pulled going to get dentures please these drugs are bad
Re: Belinda (# 115)
Hi no I haven’t really done anything, I was waiting to here if anyone had filed suit. I’m so sorry about your pain.
I'm grinding the hell outta my teeth. Painful jaw muscles. Wtf
Re: No More Lyrica (# 117)
What an absolute disgrace. These drug companies need jailing... They destroy lives and don't give a damn.
Re: catesJ582 (# 14)
Girardi and Keese in Los Angeles might. They did the Vioxx class action. They wouldn’t take a personal injury case for one of us, but they might do a class action.
Re: Sleepy (# 128)
Oh my Lord, I'm so sorry! I'm so fortunate that I detected Lyrica's side effects quickly before all of my teeth were ruined. I'm in such agony especially due to a rare incurable autoimmune disease that happened after 6 years of chronic back pain. It's going to be hard due to my agony, but I'd like to contact newspapers if anyone is willing to send me before and after photos of their teeth. I'd like to warn all that I can regarding the side effects of Lyrica. I told my pain Dr. that Canada has it on its warning label now. The worst thing is that they attest to the fact that it causes permanent memory loss but that's O.K. with the FDA. I don't know if you can post photos on this, if you can't post photos from here for me, let me know.
Re: Laura (# 127)
...as well as, the FDA. Every lawyer's office that displays a class action against Lyrica are liers.
Have been on Lyrica 600 mg for almost 2 years due to a life threatening reaction to a flouroquinolone antibiotic causing constant pain, horrible anxiety, insomnia and constant suicidal thoughts. I know that it's hell to come off because if I even miss one pill I go nuts and feel horrible. But I'd be dead if I didn't take it when I first got ill 2 years ago. So in that sense, I don't consider it a terrible drug. Keep your mouth hydrated, eat well and limit sugar and your mouth shouldn't be as dry. Yes, I'm bloated, gained a ton of weight and don't have great teeth but truly, sometimes the benefits outweigh even the worst side effects and withdrawal.
This may or may not help. There is a website called "class action". It’s kind of a roundup of all types of class action suits. You may want to take a look and check it out. You can get a free case evaluation as well.
If you find one, let me know. Same happening to me. Nothing gave me indication that this could happen either
Same thing happened to me. 49, great teeth, then 2 years of strong antibiotics as they said I had a gum infection. Never worked. Had many teeth pulled after. I've over the shock now and in process of seeing a company. So can I ask what was your solution? I'm going for implants. Ridiculous this medication can cause this and zero warnings. not even from my GP.
Re: Pat (# 2)
Dont sue dentist, sue the gp! Then pharmacy and manager. Then the pharma company. Ombudsmen love these cases. I've had 5 payments already and i'm not even at pharma company yet. So will have lovely turkish teeth sooner rather than later. Block out the torture (had to go to my son's wedding with front teeth missing). Emotion and stress REAL. That's how to claim - ptsd, anxiety, self worth, loss of earnings due to not being presentable etc. They deserve to be named and shamed.
Re: Kishan Vasekar (# 18)
Be prepared to lose your teeth! Horrible Lyrica side-effects. I am on 225 mg p/day, although i have been takingfor 10 years, my teeth began breaking, & rotting after about 3 years of Lyrica. Horrible side-effects aside, it helped with nueropathic pain.
43 here on lyrica for one year. Lost 6 teeth in the last three months alone. The others are all bad as well and have to pulled next week. Full set of dentures as there are zero available to keep.
i also took lyrica for several months, and lost 7 teeth to decay during that period. it started about 2 months after i started taking it, but i didn't realize (nor did my dentist) that it was due to lyrica, so kept taking it, and ended up losing 7 teeth. and others were affected too, and i have large fillings in those. i am livid that still, there is no mention of tooth decay as a side effect of lyrica. i even filed a report with the FDA.
Same here I have been on lyrca for many yrs, 8 months ago one tooth fell out then with in 2 weeks 11 teeth have fell out ! I cried for a month ,I don't go out at all ! my teeth were in great shape ! I know it has to be lyrca that's all I take!!!
Re: PFIZER BLOWS (# 12)
It's says dry mouth on the label. Someone on this site made this reply and said dry mouth causes tooth loss. I never knew that dry mouth would cause tooth decay. I asked my cousin who's a lawyer about Lyrica law suits and he replied no.
