Lyrica /pregablin

I have been on a course of 800mg of pregablin for nearly five years. In the past 9 months I have been having terrible pains in my teeth and gums. I had a serious hand accident with catastrophic injuries so was prescribed the above I had two large operations to save my hand .
The dentist has sent me to see a specialist and I have been informed that I am losing quite a few teeth . My teeth where my pride and joy now fifty five and starting to lose them has really upset me .
How can these people sell drugs that are doing us so much harm?
I have been working really hard over the past three months and have been reducing my intake of pregablin which has been very very difficult. Last Monday was the first week without any pregablin and so far managing the pain is horrific but this may be the only way I can save what is left of my teeth . I am one hundred percent behind you all and just wish someone would take on the giants to try and prevent other individuals from going through the horrors we have all had to share.

There are risks associated with every single medication that is on the market, after all, they are all actually drugs, they just happen to be legal ones.

I'm very sorry for what happened, but you do have to accept that there are possible risks and you have to decide if the benefit of the medication is worth more to you than those risks.


Just as an example, I have to take blood pressure and heart medications, so there are risks to my liver and kidneys, but I'd rather chance that, than experience congestive heart failure, again.

The main way that a medication, such as Lyrica, causes dental damage is due to the fact that it causes dry mouth, thus your saliva isn't able to wash away as much bacteria as usual.

What options are you looking at to replace those teeth?
