Lyrica Is Dangerous / Class Action Suit Anyone? (Page 10)

I have crps in both hands from carpal tunnel release...after several months, I was worse, not better. My workmens comp dr. said " You will have chronic pain the rest of your life and you will just have to learn to live with it"...oh thanks doc for screwing my hands up, not to mention how it has drastically has changed my life and limitations. I have been seeing a pain specialist ever since and that was back in 2001 when I had the release. I was on lyrica for the last 6 years, I have been off of it for three months. Now that I think back to when my severe depression started was not long since I started taking it. I don't know how many times I said I hate my life and I wish I was dead, I had thoughts of taking all my prescriptions and going to sleep for good! By the grace of god, I had my four nephews to take care of and I truly believe they saved my life! My pain management N.P wanted to keep a close eye on me when I started taking it, so I went from going every six months to every three months and when my depression got worse every two months...nothing was done, I was on 600 mg. a day, why didn't she try to lower my dose? I complained about the swelling and she said she didn't have any other patients complain, I was taking lyrica for the pain in my hands and the whole time it was making them worse! There were many time I would be driving and make a turn and not know where I was...one day I couldn't remember my address, I couldn't remember conversations I had with my boys, I had no brain! When I came off lyrica and I did it slowly...it was one of the hardest things I have ever done. Hot, cold, night sweats, nauseous...I was at the grocery store and literally felt like a monster coming out of me, thank god I am off lyrica! My lawyer is checking on a class action lawsuit, all of us that has had a horrible experience with lyrica, we all need to come together and they need to pay for putting this horrible drug on the market!

My friend, Linnie, has taken Lyrica for several years. She just returned home from a week long hospital stay due to kidney failure caused by Lyrica. Her doctor recognized the problem right away and took her that medication. A few days later, her kidney function returned. Class Action Lawsuit PLEASE!

I've been at 600mg/day (200mgx3) for over 11 YEARS!! I don't have time to list all it's done, but I stayed on for the benefits.
I just recently decided to call it quits with Lyrica - my Saving Grace Drug . . . HA! I just read what it was doing to my brain (synapses). My concern now: (aside from the expected pain increase) >Will my brain begin to reproduce new synapses again?<
I made the choice to come off Lyrica because of what it's doing to my brain, BUT if I'm doomed whether I stay on Lyrica or not - I have to seriously reconsider the pain, maybe staying on for relief.
I am SOOO pissed off that I/we were never told of some of these side effects.
Mostly I miss me. She died quite a few years back. If she won't be coming back, at least I can go in peace & without as much pain.
I'm in God's hands now - where I've always been. This decision is crushing me.
For now the plan is to come off. I'm 1/3 of the way down & it's brutal. I'm an emotional wreck. I see my Physiatrist (not Psychiatrist) on Wed. It will be a long appointment. I'm glad I'm the last one of his day (my plan). I'm going to need it.
I pray for all of us that have been relieved of our pain input to have our lives & bodies destroyed in the process. If I had known 11+ years ago, I would not have chosen to try it.
I had been on Neurontin, 3000mg/day for 3 years previous to 11 on Lyrica. I do brain exercises all day on my phone to try to help the situation. I'm not sure how much brain is left.
It has taken me so long to write this, I don't have the strength to list all the side effects & experiences. Maybe another day.

My doctor wrote me 1200mg of lyrica a day for neuropathy. Once lyrics built up into my system I had severe seizeures and all sorts of reactions. I just got out of the hospital 3 days ago and still feel very sick. What should I do next?

It nearly killed me. Loss of sight. Dizziness hair loss and the list goes on. Im in Australia & i want this drug taken off the market.

I been on Lyrica for 6 months i have no balance my eyes get very blury and have migraine because of it. I have gained 40 lbs and now have high blood and heart isdues. This drug needs to come off the market. Dr shouldn't be able to give this medicine

Lyrica is the worst thing to happen to me as of yet! Dr thought it would be more effective than neurotin only took a few months and started blurry vision, shockey brain, sore burning eyes, dizziness, nausea, cant regulate body temp while sleeping hot/cold all night and off and on all day! On week 4 after weaning and withdrawl symptoms only getting a tiny bit better. Im so scared that i will never be the same again. Gained 40 pounds in the few months on it-been off almost a month and already lost 10 pounds. Why are they still prescribing this? Who do we have to tell? I dont want anyone to have to go through this! This is hell!! I know this has had to have been going on for a while so why??? Why are the doctors not believing their patients when they tell them that this drug is wreaking havoc on us? I feel like im in a bad dream and i cant wake up!

I was on lyrica for fibromyalgia pain, originally I was on cymbalta than switched to Lyrica. Within a shirt period of time I sgarted experiencing blurry eyes and irritation. One morning I woke up and I couldnt open my right eye and tears were literally pouring from my eye. And when I would try to open my other eye my right eye would become even more painful. I went to bospital emerg and after examinations and tests they saw nothing but referred me to a specialist. But that appt wasnt for weeks and by the next day I needed an answer than not later. I went to a clinic nearby and fortunately they squeezed me in..I had a long scratch as well as an abrasion on the pupil. With treatment of anti biotic and drops it took about four days to get better. I still mept the appt with the specialist, she confirmed the scratch and abrasion but she said not to take the antibiotic and left me on the refresh. Well within a day it was back...another trip to emerg ..no answers..than to my doctor.we discussed going off lyrica for a few days. That made a hugh difference and since than I have been on cymbalta. Herein lies the problem, I now cannot cry! Seriously it hurts my eyeballs when emotion takew over when I cry and no tears come out. Anyone else have similiar issues with lyrica?

My husband started out on 75 mg of Lyrica 2x a day and eventually was upped to 300 mg 2x a day. He has a terrible chronic pain issue and is on other pain meds as well. He found no pain relief from the Lyrica but it did affect him terribly in many other ways...one way it affected him is it changed his personality completely. The laid back daddy and husband, my family had always known disappeared and in his place, we lived with a man we barely recognized. He lost his memory to the point that he didn't remember an entire trip that we took to Texas from Oklahoma (7 hour drive) to see our son and his wife. He doesn't even remember being there. On top of that, because of his memory loss, he couldn't recall the last time he had taken his pain meds and so would take more (this was the first and only period of time that he ever self-medicated during the 6 years he has had this condition). I will never forget one weekend when he was so out of his mind and so lethargic (nearly unresponsive) that I finally panicked and started putting 2 and 2 together. I have had 3 different physicians tell me that he could very well have died that weekend from overdosing...all because of his memory loss. I then got in touch with his dr and demanded that he be taken off of Lyrica. He gained over 50 lbs in the 3 months that he was on Lyrica. We are now several months past it and he still struggles with his memory and moods. He has lost almost 25 lbs but still has a way to go. I will say that tho I have seen some improvement, I wonder if I will ever have my hubby back! We have had a wonderful marriage of almost 24 years and The difference in him truly breaks my heart.

Lyrica has DESTROYED my life. Thanks to Pfizer, I have air throughout my intestines and bowels. My obstetrician said I had the dryest eye's he'd ever seen, they feel like hot poker's are spearing them and when I first wake up I only can tell if it's light, it was 20/20, my intestines are looped, full of air and my stomach distends to point's that I have passed out and a rescue squad has come to take me to the hospital, my short term memory is gone, I'm depressed and I had to go to a G.I. doctor and cardiologist and vascular specialist. I can't drive because of my vision. I can't leave my house until it's dark outside and 97% of the time I have to wear sunglasses inside of my house and keep the curtains drawn. I forget what I was saying or going to do, all day, every day. My cognitive abilities are indescribable. I have slipped and herniated disc's all the way from top to bottom but I can't do anything about it because my heart rate, which was in the 65-75, now it is 130 plus. The only issue I have had was my back, they put me on it at the pain specialist where I was being treated for my back via EPI shots. Now they refuse.

That drug has ruined my life FOREVER!!!! I have driven or should say, someone has driven me hour's to specialist. My eye sight will never be right again.

Please, please help me!!

Brenda, I was life flighted to a hospital due to bleeding in brain and double aneurysm surgery. My weight went up so bad I was borderline diabetic. Even when I told my Dr. my whole family has diabetes he still continued to give it to me. My memory is mush. My life is worse due to that crap. I could go on but I too am waiting on a lawsuit to surface. THIS DRUG HAS TO BE TAKEN OFF THE MARKET! IT IS HIGHLY DANGEROUS!!!

Lyrics ruined my life! And the neurologist that prescribed it to me said I had micro seizures. I have done many tests since, I do NOT have seizures. I have not been the same since taking that awful drug. A few months after diagnosing me, the same neurologist diagnosed a friend with micro seizures... And guess what he wanted to prescribe her.

I too was on Lyrica for pain. I was dx'd w fibromyalgia in 1992 approx. I went on Lyrica in 2008 and it did help w pain but face, hands, legs swelled. My entire body swelled up after being on it for approx 6 months. I also gained 40 lbs and had a hard time getting rid of it. Pains and spasms in legs, etc. Dx'd with lymphoma in 2015. It was stated on insert for Lyrica that it mat cause lymphoma. I would like to know if thete is a class action lawsuit in place yet for Lyrica in canada

I don't know if anyone has a class action suit against Pfizer about this but I'd love to either join one or start one. This little tidbit will PISS YOU OFF!! Lyrica was recalled a long time ago.

Why? What good will come of me updating the misery I am in? NOBODY WILL HELP ME! You people haven't. The 27 attorneys I have contacted won't help me. They say I have a case but they are going for women who were pregnant and the effects it had on the child. I was healthy. I have NEVER had any health problems aside from my back. Lyrica DESTROYED ALL THAT!!! I had 20/10 vision, I can't go out during the day without eye patches on both eyes and sunglasses. I have to keep my house dark as a crypt and wear sunglasses inside. It messed my heart up. I will have to have a cardiologist and vascular specialist FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!! I looped and twisted my bowel's and intestines. I have always weighed around 120, 125lbs and a stomach you could grate cheese on. I weigh 160 and my stomach is destinded so far out, it PHYSICALLY HURTS, INSIDE AND OUT!! I feel's like razor blades are shredding my inside's. I can't drive anymore, I am exhausted 10 munutes after I get up. I soil myself.

So tell me again why I should update anything. You all sure as hell won't help me. Why would I help you?

I have been taking Lyrica a little over two weeks. I started on it on 5/16/17. After a week I started having trouble breathing when I lie down. I taught it was happening because of my hot flashes after about two days later I woke up with acid pouring out my nose thinking it was my acid reflex acting up. I also notice I was putting on weight quick in 2 weeks I had gain 12lbs. I took 2 of my fluid pill thinking it was fluid cause my legs and feet was swollen. I have CHF and never had problems with no swelling. I was only given the fluid pills for if needed. 2 days later I woke up again with fluid coming out my nose again but this time I could breath it was horrible. I was scared. I was able to catch my breath again. I sat up in bed wondering why all of these symptoms was a occurring. I taught about what changed in the last 2 weeks. The only thing that had change was my Dr. prescribed me Lyrica for leg pain. I am no longer taking Lyrica. This was the most confusing, depressing, time I have every experience wondering if my heart condition was worsening.
