Lyrica Causes Seizures

My doctor prescribed Lyrica for severe nerve pain in my upper left leg. My specialist told me the pain is cause by my diabetes. At first, in June 2015 I was taking 75 mg., but to no effect. I took 150 mg., but again to no effect. In mid-July my doctor increased my dosage to 300 mg. I started having seizures. I decreased the dosage over a couple of weeks and stopped taking Lyrica. I took no more Lyrica, after mid-August. It is now in December and the seizures persist. Will these ever go away? I don't particularly want to take other drugs that will also cause such side-effects. Thank you.

Hello, Mitch! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you're having.

If you stopped it months ago, then it should not still be causing seizures. Have you consulted a neurologist?

It is possible to develop a chemical imbalance that causes seizures, even if you've never experienced them, before. It happened to my fiancé and many other people, as well.

The FDA lists the other typical withdrawal effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, chills, diarrhea and depression.

Thank you, for your kind response to my enquiry. No I haven't gone back to my doctor yet. I don't want him prescribing anything else to me. I am thinking about seeing him to obtain a referral to a neurologist, but I am still trying to overcome the seizure attacks on my own. Generally, if these things don't die away, I will need some medical help. Thank you again for your response.
