UpdatedThe doctor took me off Losartan and now my ankles keep swelling. Could this be the cause?

It is possible. If it was stopped abruptly, the FDA does warn that it may cause some rebound effects, such as elevated heart rate, blood pressure, and fluid retention.
Are you on any other medications? Have you informed your doctor of the problem?
Uncontrolled edema could cause congestive heart failure, which has the potential to be fatal.
I have been on Losartan 25 mg for a month and have side effects from it. I tried to stop it and my B/P went up higher than before I started it. It went from 140/90 to 170/104. Please advise how to stop this drug without causing this side effect.
