Lorazepam Side Effects
UpdatedI read that there are many side effects of Lorazepam. Anyone know of legal cases against this drug? I've heard it's for short term use and getting off it is dangerous and may cause suicidal thoughts.

Hello, Peggy! How are you?
Unfortunately, when it comes to the normal side effects, as long as they have been disclosed and are available for you to discover, there are no legal grounds to take action. Suits are usually only considered valid, when the manufacturer has hidden information about possible side effects, long-term effects and etc. Your taking the medication is considered as you having accepted the risk.
I know that doesn't help you, I'm just letting you know how the law currently works.
The FDA does warn that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability, among many others.
What issues did you experience, while taking it?
I've been taking it for 21 years and have no side affects- works great. I take it exactly as prescribed however if the pharmacists changes manufacturer I will experience side affects. All it takes is 0.01 change to make a difference and most likely if your pharmacist says no about that they are not very educated . It has a short shelf life. The only side affect I have is that if my doctor keep saying he wants to take me off it and that makes me more anxious (part of the plan to stuff more drugs in me) . It works well, has no long term side affects- why would the doctors be anxious to take me off....errrr
After being on it for 21 years I reduced my 1 mg to half mg for the past couple weeks- still no negative affects however I'm sleeping about an hour to 2 hours less and have more energy, but this is starting to work in my favor now.

I am experiencing the same thing! I have cut my dose from 1 mg to a half and actually sleep better now. Yoga helps my anxiety and I think the former dose was too much for me. I suffered a stroke while detoxing and it seems as if my body is more sensitive to the higher dose and perhaps less is more in your case as well. Kudos to you for seeing that more meds isn't always the answer. Reducing a dose can be as helpful as going to a higher dose can be.
