I have had migraine headaches for 25 years and I get them three to five time a week. My doctor had me on MS Contin and he died, now I cannot find a doctor anywhere that will prescribe me any pain meds. Does anyone know of a doctor in Pittsburgh, Pa that will prescribe narcotics?

Can anyone PLEASE help? 10 years ago I had weight loss surgery I had a VG be done I've had several complications malabsorption hernia repairs blood transfusions osteoporosis arthritis malabsorption. All my teeth have fallen out from vomiting food getting stuck and not absorbing calcium. Middle of January getting all teeth pulled and dentures. Some relief. 2 years ago I had 8 hour corrective surgery. I want my life back!!! I'm in pain. I have 2 lumbar fractures and one thoracic, right knee needs replaced. Anemic, depressed, anxiety, fatigue. All of this due to not absorbing nutrients, iron, calcium, zinc, vitamins the essentials for your body. I wanted to better myself by having surgery and it back fired!!!!! Wish I never had it!!! I'm a Therapeutic Recreational specialist specializing dementia/Alzheimer's, psychiatric behavior problems. Is there any Dr who can treat my pain and get to the root of it in PA? I'm willing to travel anywhere to be pain free, working, and having my life back.
I have a wonderful PM doctor ... Hes does prescribe narcotics ... but hes in Lebanon pa... I know its a drive but worth it ... Dr. Stuart Hartman ... check out his reviews everyone that goes there loves him ... good luck to you
I go to Dr. Lodico at the Advanced Pain Clinic...the have offices all over Pittsburgh. I go to the office in Wexford.He is an awesome Dr. who tries very hard to help people with chronic pain. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I was on 600 mg. of ms contin extended release a day...It just didn't work for my pain. I recently had a pain pump implanted in my stomach. I get it filled this week. Hope this helps.....TV
has anyone found a doctor that listens?
Thanks David, I will definitely try that. Any info I can get is good, thanks for responding.
I may not have a doctor I can refer you to, but I can provide you with a couple links that may be of service to you in locating pain management doctors within your general area.
All you have to do is input your city or zip code for narrowed results:
{link removed because site no longer exists}
You can give this other page a try too if you come up with different results for some reason or another:
wellness.com/find/pain%20management%20specialist
Many of the results you find (in one or both of the links above) also list a phone number for that specific doctor; I'd consider calling up a number of them to see if they are accepting new patients; some aren't, but most usually are.
I hope this info helps. Good luck on your search!
