Long Term Use Of Clonazepam
Updatedhas anybody been taking clonezepam for a long time? are you having any adverse effects or problems with tolerance?

Tolerance is completely normal and everyone that takes a medication for a long period of time will eventually experience it. It can just happen at different times for different people.
Thus one person may post and say no, they've been taking the same dose for 5 years, but another person may make it less than a year before needing a dosage adjustment.
As to adverse effects, it can be habit forming after you've been on it for a long time and a sudden cessation may cause seizures.

Does anyone have any personal experiences to add?
i know all the theoretical details. I need to hear from people actually taking clonazepam. they are the only people who really know. thanks anyway
Ive taken it for a LONG time.. and right now I need to take 1-2 mg a day or I go into withdrawal. The downsides are... memory glitches (I used to have an incredible memory) and sleep problems. When I take too much it's hard to sleep, and when I don't take enough it's also hard to sleep but, I get these nightmares. I wish I had stopped when I could have stopped (now just trying to taper gets me the fever dreams!) otherwise, the downsides arent that horrible... But I think I'm not working at full capacity here. Im more sluggish, less agile mentally.
Hello, I have been taking 1mg of klonopin twice daily for 5 years as of May 2020.
I have really started noticing that I have a tolerance when it feels like I have a lot of break through anxiety.
I am also on other medications for my anxiety and go to therapy regularly. So it's not as if I am solely depending on my klonopin, not that I believe there is anything wrong with that.
However, anytime I mention this to my doctor or ask if a dosage adjustment would be an option, I get shut down or told that my doctor has a goal to get me off of all of my medications completely.
I feel completely dismissed and judged when this happens.
Does anyone else go through this?
