I forgot the last week weeks of pills and according to instruction I have to restart taking a new pack and discard those remaining last two weeks of pill ( which I did ). A day after missing my pill, I got my period ( like normal and on schedule ) I restarted taking the Lo Loestrin Fe back 2 weeks after being off it. Then my period started again 20 days after the last day of my period. It was light ( like my last period ). But the problem or concern I have now is that I got the period for a week, then it stopped for 2 days, then came back for another 2 days ( also light that it is ok to just wear pantiliner ) then after that it stopped for another 2 days, now its back again and I am having little cramps like I am having period. I started the pill 4 days after my period started. I started on a Monday. I been on it for 5 days. How long does it take to work due to the fact that I didn't take it on the first day of my period? I have been taking lo loestrin fe for a few months now. I was supposed to start a new pack on Monday (now it's Thursday) but due to some pharmacy mix up I was unable to pick up my prescription in time for the new pack. I picked it up today. Should I start the new pack on Monday? I think I read I was supposed to start on my period but I won't be getting that for awhile (I get it every two months) and I haven't gotten a period in months because of the pills. This morning when I meant to take my third blue pill in the pack, it was i couldn't see so I accidentally had my pack upside down and instead took the second white pill that i should take at the end of the pack. When i realized what i did i took the correct blue pill immediately, but now i will only have one white pill when the time comes to take it at the end of the month. Is it okay to take only one white pill and then have three days of placebo, one where i just don't take any pill? Or is it okay to skip the last 4 pills altogether and just start my new pack right after my last blue one? Which option will not decrease the effectiveness of the pill? ## Hello, Anna! How are you? I started lo loestrin fe 3 months ago and I didn't realize until now you are supposed to take the white pills! Last month I had cramps and spotting when I should have had period. I haven't taken any white but never missed blue pills. I am 18 days into my new pack and am extremely worried I could have gotten pregnant. What are the chances?! ## Yes, you are supposed to take those ones, they do contain an active hormone, so there could be a risk of getting pregnant. Probably not a very high one, since theoretically, you were at the end of your cycle at that point, not in the middle where you'd normally ovulate. My pharmacy couldn't offer my Loestrin Fe at the price I was paying and my doctor suggested I switch to either Lo Loestrin Fe (same active cycle but with a lower dose) or Junel (different active cycle). I chose the LoLo just because it seemed easier, but I was standing in a crowded pharmacy and didn't feel like I could ask all the questions I wanted. So I'm still a little suspicious. Hi, I've been on Lo Loestrin for the past month and a half or so. For the past couple days, I have been kinda sloppy with taking my pills on time. I'm supposed to take them at 1pm, but I forgot until about 4 pm. I had to fill my prescription on Monday but I was supposed to take a pill on Sunday night. So I took it as soon as I got my refill. Then I somehow missed Monday night, Tuesday night, and last night. So I'm going on vacation Nov 7th. And I'm not sure if I will have my period and I'm trying to avoid it. I just realized i never took the two white pills from my last pill pack (lot going on). But i had my period so no worries and was going to just start my next pill pack sunday. However, i did not foresee my dr messing up (long story but will be switching dr.s) so, I was unable to get prescription filled until wednesday; 4 days after I was to begin taking the first pill. Hi everyone. 10 days into this pill pack I started having breakthrough bleeding which lasted for 10 days. It wasn't normal at all... it was just brown "discharge" (sorry TMI) and nothing ever heavy enough to soak a pad or use a tampon. On October 2nd I took my last pill in my pack for Lo Loestrin Fe because I decided to discontinue use from here on out because I don't want to be on birth control anymore. My doctor put me on lo loestrin fe 1-10 because my cycle was lasting 10-15 days for about 2yrs. I am 41 and before I was 3-5 days at the most. I have been taking the pill for five months. The 1st pack I had the 10-15 day cycle. The 2nd pack I had a 8 day cycle with a little spotting 1week later. The 3 pack I had 2 full days & 2 spotting days. I have been taking lo loestin fe for 10 days and I'm an emotional wreck I hear something on the radio or see something on TV and I start crying, I can be laughing and the next second I'm irritated I hate this and I hate this BC I don't know what to do I also get cramps after an hour of taking it. Hi. Could anyone let me know if I did the right thing? Thanks in advance. I just started taking Lo Loestrin Fe starting last Sunday, which is also the first day of my period (as advised by my gyno). And I take it exactly at 11:25 am everyday including today. Everything was fine until today after I had lunch, I vomitted forcefully at around 2 p.m., probably due to some food allergy. I checked the instruction and it says if you have diarrhea or vommiting within 3-4 hours after taking the pill, you need to follow "missed pill guide", where it says you need to take the missed pill as soon as possible, then take the next pill at regular time. Got period on Monday. Went to OBGYN to start BC...Thursday. Insert says to start on the first day of period, but can I start taking it today? Should I start on Sunday? Should I wait until my next period? ## You can actually start it at any time, but if it is later than the 2nd day of your period, you'll need to wait a full 7 days for it to become effective at preventing pregnancy, which means no unprotected intercourse until the 8th day.
