Im just confused as to this pack and if I'm doing something wrong. My period has started on the 2 white pills and 2 pink pills before but that didn't last. It now always comes on 3rd week during the blue pills instead of from what I've been reading the "2 white 2 pink pills" and it's longer then I've ever had it? What am I doing wrong? ## Hello, Christina! How are you? You're not doing anything wrong, if you're taking all of the active blue pills around the same approximate time each day. Irregular bleeding can occur for the first 3 months, or so, while your body is getting used to the hormones in this oral contraceptive. If it's been longer than 3 month, it may not be the right one for you and you may need to try a different one. Other typical si...

I have been on lo loestrin fe for more than a year now and in the beginning I would have my period and then I started to get it every other month. Since then I haven't been getting it at all. I haven't gotten it in 6 or 7 months. Is this normal? I take my pill on time and I'm not pregnant. It's just always been this way and idk if anyone is the same way ## Hello, Sarah! How are you? Yes, that can be a normal side effect of oral contraceptives, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, headache and PMS-like symptoms. Unless your doctor feels there is reason for concern, it's usually not anything to worry about. Is there anything else I can help with? ## My doctor says that this is okay I just feel like it's not normal. To not be getting my period at ...

I started Loestrin Fe three months ago, and a day or two before I was supposed to get my period (which maybe the reason my cycle is so messed up). I get my period in the middle of the pack, but nothing at all on the placebo pills. Is it still safe to have intercourse if this is the case? ## Hello Mars! How are you? Yes, when you have your period actually doesn't matter, as long as you don't miss any active tablets, then they will suppress ovulation and prevent pregnancy. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, weight gain and PMS-like symptoms. If you're concerned, please speak to your doctor. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I started lo loestren fe when I started my period. I have been bleeding for...

I'm in my first month of Lo Loestrin Fe. I took my first pill the Sunday after my period started which was just one day after. I took 1 pill 12 hours late and the next one right on time and every time after that pretty much right on time. The websites I've read all said nothing will happen if I just took the one late. I'm on day 26 now and have been spotting for over a week but I have no idea when I'm supose to be expecting my period. ## The spotting may be your period, many oral contraceptives can cause your period to be much lighter than normal. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. However, did you have unprotected intercourse during the first week? Because, if they aren't st...

I read the instructions in taking Lo loestrin fe & it says to start the 1st blue pill on the first day of your period on Sunday. However it also said I could start it later than the 1st day of my period but I should be fine after taking 7 blue pills. Will my period be delayed now? Because I was suppose to start the 1st of December and haven't gotten it yet but I feel like it's coming. Should I be concerned? ## I was on it for almost a year. I didn't get my period for 8 months. Then I didn't have a Dr to get anymore so now I get it. I don't remember how long it took for me not to have my period. ## @Ashhbrad, There's really no way to accurately predict whether or not your period will be delayed (and if so, by how many days/months...?). That is something I feel...

Last night I took the last of my white pills, I have 2 brown pills left to take tonight and tomorrow night. This is my first pack. Today I notice what seems like my period....is this my period? How long wil it last? ## Hello, Linda! How are you? Yes, it is normal to get your period at the end of the pack. It may last anywhere from 2 to 7 days, it can vary from person to person. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

This is my second month on this bc. I typically take my pill in the morning between 9-11. Today I didn't end up taking my pill until 2. Is it bad that I don't take it down to the exact same minute every day and should I be concerned that I took it so much later today? ## Hello, Emily! How are you? No, that's fine. You have a window of about 12 hours, before it's even really considered a late pill. The FDA lists the typical side of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been on lo lo estrin for over a year. I usually don't have periods but every now and then I get one. I had a short one about two weeks ago and today I seem to have started again. no missed pills. same time every day. advice? is this normal? ## Hello, Jordyn! How are you? That can happen, usually due to a fluctuation in your natural hormones in conjunction with the ones in the oral contraceptives, however, it would be best to have it checked out to be sure. The FDA lists other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, weight changes and irritability. Is there anything else I can help with?

So I just got a new BC lolo Fe. Everyone talks about "break week". What is a break week? Is it when I get my period and should be using the 2 brown pills and 2 white pills? Sorry really need a point of direction ## Yes, that is the 'break week'. Some pill packs don't have you take anything that week. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

I sometimes get my period and sometimes don't, so I am wondering if I were to have intercourse while on the white or purple pill am I still protected from pregnancy? ## Hello, Chels! How are you? As long as you haven't missed any of the active tablets, then you are protected, regardless of whether or not you have a period. The FDA lists the other possible side effects of oral contraceptives as including nausea, dizziness, headache, weight changes and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've been taking lo loestrin for for about 6 Months now. I have always got my period on the white/ brown pills. This month I never got my period. I'm on the 4th blue pill on the next pack and still nothing. I took a pregnancy test 2 weeks after and it was negative. Is this normal to miss a period / should I be worried? ## Hello, Lo! How are you? Yes, skipping a period can be normal, when taking oral contraceptives, some women don't have them, at all, on this one. There's no reason to worry, unless your doctor feels there's reason to be concerned. The FDA lists the other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi! I've been on Lo Loestrin for 8 or so months, and it's been fine. I've never missed a pill. I do skip the last 2 brown pills. I had my period as expected a week and a half ago...but today I just started bleeding again! I thought spotting was supposed to happen in only the first 3 months. Any insights / should I be worried? I 100% do not want to be pregnant! ## Spotting can really occur any time, because your natural hormone levels still fluctuate and then the oral contraceptives also have an effect. Unless your doctor feels there's reason to be concerned, then it's not usually anything to worry about. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and weight gain. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Okay. Any time...

OK, so I was on lutera first for 5 months. I got off it around like beginning of Feb then I got onto lo loerestrin fe. I missed pill the first month but I still bled 2 times that month. Now I am more consistent and took every pill around the hour I'm supposed to and of course I had just 2 little tiny spots of blood, that was it and I've been cramping and no bleeding. I never missed a period but I am new to birth control pills. The first was that lutera and I'm 29 with 1 daughter. I been on this lo loerestrin fe for at least 4.5 months now and I always bled the first 3 months of it and now I have no period not even consider spotting only 2 little spot when wiped that was it tried tampon and no blood. I'm worried. I was sequel with my fiance but less only like 3 times this...

I have been on this pill for at least 4 months and I have not had my usual bleeding, I still have sore nipples, cramps, and occasional bloating but not period. I'm relieved and happy to see so many women out there using this pill and having the same worry as I do! I will still talk to my obgyn, but its nice to know that we are not alone is our circumstances! ## Hello, Zana! How are you? Many women don't have periods, while taking this oral contraceptive and it's nothing to worry about, unless your doctor feels there's reason to be concerned. The FDA lists the other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, PMS-like symptoms and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

My Dr out me on Loestrin and I started about a week after my period ended ! I'm on week two of the pills and now have light bleeding! I was told this could happen which is fine but now I'm wondering if do some reason this is a period again and I do t get one when I start the white pills should I finish that out or start a new pack of blueb pills ! Or should I do that to avoid another period ! ## Hello, Beth! How are you? You should continue taking them, as prescribed, without missing any pills and then start a new pack on time. This irregular bleeding is normal for the first 3 months, while your body is getting used to the hormones in them. If it gets too heavy, or continues past 3 months, you should consult your doctor. The other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizzin...

I have been on Lo Loestrin Fe for 3 years now and have only missed one or two pills ever, but not recently. I got my period when I was supposed to for the first time in months. It came 9/1-9/3. I had unusually bad cramps during my period but i assumed it was because i hadn't gotten it for a while. My boyfriend and i did have unprotected intercourse since my last period. On 9/14 i started getting period like cramps in the afternoon followed by slight bleeding which increased today 9/15. Is this just my hormones being weird or did i somehow get pregnant? ## Hello, Leah! How are you? If you didn't miss any pills, then it is most likely just your hormones being weird, unless your doctor feels there is some reason to be concerned. I took my first pill on the 27th August 2nd day of my period and have took it again this morning 28th at the same time 740am I have had a shower when I got up and when I got out the shower I was still on my period ? Shouldn't my period stop when I'm taking these pills ? ## Hello, Georgia! How are you? No, they may shorten the duration of your period, but they won't stop it that fast. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, breakthrough bleeding and PMS-like symptoms. I missed 2 blue pills in week 3 of my pack. I normally take them at night. I forgot to take pills Sat night and Sunday night. I remembered Monday morning and took both, then took Monday's pill Monday night and have continued with the pack. I now see that I should have thrown out the pack after missing two and started fresh. I had intercourse at the start of my week 4 pills - should I be concerned about pregnancy? ## Hello, Danielle! How are you? Yes, if you missed pills there is an increased risk of pregnancy. Usually, they instruct you to wait and see if your period is late and, if it goes 7 days or more late, then to have it checked out, unless your doctor instructs otherwise. I just started the Lo Loestrin Fe pill for the first time today. I took it about 11:15 because I understood the directions wrong. I want to take the pill every night at 9pm. Do I just wait till 9pm tomorrow to take it? ## Hello, B! How are you? Yes, that should be fine, unless your doctor says otherwise. Generally, you have a 12 hour window, before it would even be considered a late tablet. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, breakthrough bleeding and weight gain. I'd like to change the time of my dose from 7am to 9pm. I am on week 2 of my pills. Can I just begin taking them in the evening? Or do I need to do it gradually? Thanks! ## Generally, you have a window of 24 hours, before it would be considered missing a pill, so you should be fine to switch the time, unless your doctor says otherwise. However, since that is a gap of 14 hours, it may result in some more breakthrough bleeding or spotting than usual, for a few days or so. Other side effects to oral contraceptives, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hello I also have a question related to timing. I have been on the pill for 3 months because I was not getting a period. Doc...
