I've been taking Lo Loestrin Fe at the same time every day consistantly for two months with no period... is this normal?

I had unprotected sex yesterday with my boyfriend. And today I just started taking Lo loestrin fe. Uhm I really don't want to get pregnant but how many pills should I take after having unprotected sex? (Yesterday I had unprotected sex)
PLEASE ANSWER ASAP :(

I am a 30yr old female and I stopped taking this pill (I had been on similar ones others in prior years) four months ago. For years, doctors in three different states told me it was completely normal to not have a period, while most of my family members and friends disagreed. Naturally I believed the gyno's. That being said, I'm a runner, eat healthy, and I've been battling a stress fracture for almost a year now. The orthopedic surgeon was PERPLEXED that I hadn't had a period for years. In short -periods are linked to your endo system and bone density. Not getting your period can have severe side effects to you body. I can't help but think my fracture it related to the pill and all those years w/I a period. I would try other options- perhaps steering away from the pill that is bad on so many levels(profit driven, masks other underlying reproductive problems, fertility, etc).

Ps- webmd lists a 'RARE side effect' of this pill as 'irregular periods' and I'm sure other literature does as well. Doesn't seem that 'rare' to me

Never got it, had a follow up with the doctor who said it could take 3-5months for my body to acclimate to the new pill with lower estrogen.

I started taking Lo Loestrin in the beginning of May (I've never been on the pill before.) I haven't had a period since then but I do have bloating around the time I think I would normally get one. I haven't had any problems with weight gain at all (I'm very active), but during the first month I did feel nauseous and had headaches. They went away soon though...if you take it at the same time each day you should be alright!

Lo loestrin Fe is the worst pill ever, I started taking it and in between periods I had a period, before I had finished my first month. I had the worst side effects ever: headaches every day, weight gain in two weeks I gained 10 lbs, anxiety, depression. I stopped taking the pill as I could not bear the headaches and anxiety anymore. Two months after I am still without period. I know the doctor said that this pill should stop my periods or they will be very light but I have not had any ... And I am not taking anything anymore. I hope I am not pregnant.

Sheri I have been having the same experience. I started Lo Loestrin Fe in March on the first day of my period. Breakthrough bleeding began 10 days after and lasted for the entirety of that pack. It only stopped day 2 of my second pack. Now 10 days after beginning he second pack, breakthrough has begun again. It's heavy at times, sometimes red, sometimes brown and weird, cramps.... After reading all these accounts of ladies not seeing their period, I'm really crossing my fingers and hoping for that. I'm getting married in 12 days and my finance and I are praying that this pattern doesn't continue. I read that skipping the white and brown pills might help in this regard.

I've been on lo loestrogen fe for about 6 months now. Whenever my boyfriend and I have sex we always use a condom, just to be safe. But I noticed I missed two periods. I've taken four tests. And they all came back negative. Is this normal to not get two periods!

At first, like I mentioned in an earlier post, I didn't get a period at all for the first three months (I've been on LoLoEstrin for 6 months now)...I thought "Awesome! Finally!"...but beginning in March that all changed. I started spotting and bleeding randomly on the active pills, my cramps have come back and when I do get my period, it lasts several days and the cramping, bleeding, and clotting is bad; I'm constantly "on guard". After starting this last new pack/7 active pills in, I've had no bleeding during the day however, late afternoon/early evening, I suddenly begin cramping and then BOOM, I bleed heavily with clots for an hour or more straight. It's very frustrating! I have a few trips planned for this summer and I really don't want to have to worry about this interfering at all or keeping me in bed. Not sure if I should try yet again, now a fourth, birth control pill to regulate my period.

I was on Loestrin fe for two years and only got a period the first month. I then stopped it for a while and got my periods. I started it again and got a period the first month and then the periods stopped. I talked to my gyno and he said there is no medical concern about not getting a period. Of course with my anxiety, I have been known to take pregnancy tests anyways!

Have you had unprotected sex? If you missed your period and your breasts are tender I would take a test just to be safe.

Jenny - even though I don't feel it is a good idea to have sex while still in high school - I do applaud you for being smart enough to use birth control. The depression can be normal - when I was on Yaz a few years ago, the first few months I was very emotional and would start crying over the stupidest things - so definitely let your boyfriend know that this pill might make you a bit more emotional (will make him a bit more understanding). It should go away after a few months (I'd give it 6). If it does not, or if you are REALLY depressed then I would switch to a different pill.

Hi all! I just finished my first pack of lo Loestrin FE and began my second pack today. I've never missed a single pill and my boyfriend and me still use condoms during sex. Last month I got my period on the 8th of May, and while I know it's not yet the 8th of June, I have already taken the two brown pills and started my next pack. Is it normal to have an irregular or no period during the first month? I'm going to assume I'm not pregnant because we still use condoms too!

Been on Lo Loestrin for 7 months...everything was fine for 3 months then no period at all for the other 3 months which I assumed was normal. But this month I'm 10 days into a heavy period (which started 2 weeks into the active pills) with no end in sight. Is this normal?? I'm freaking out a little. I'm not sexually active so it doesn't have anything to do with a pregnancy

I'm a little worried that it would affect our fertility. I haven't had my period in over a year since I've started this birth control and as much as I love it, it makes me feel like I will have issues with conceiving in the future. Does anyone know if it is safe?

I have been on lo loestrin 24 fe for three months now and on my third month my period was extra light and as i was leaking it looked like blood but on my pad it was brown. Is that normal and just a very light period? That lasted for days I was on the brown iron pills. I also have been feeling very bloated, full when I eat and feel like I have a lot gas built up in my stomache causing pains after starting a new pack. What can this be?

Girls, I was looking for a reply on this subject of not getting your period on lo loestrin fe. But after reading the replies, I am shocked at how many comments are admitting unprotected sex with boyfriends. Please get smart and protect yourselves from stds and also unwanted babies!!! It's not worth it...

I took lo loestrin fe for a whole month, i had unprotected sex on the last friday and sunday of my pack. i bled a little through the beginning.but no period yet, i didn't start on my second pack bcuz of the price. im about 9 days late, i took a pregnancy test a week after my missed period and it turned out negative, should i wait one more week and take it again just to be sure? please help!!!!!!
