Lo Loestrin Fe And Continuous Bleeding (Page 11) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI started taking Lo Loestrin FE on Feb. 2nd and it is now Feb. 21st and I have been bleeding non-stop (literally all day, every day). Doctor says to wait it out for 3 months... 3 months of non-stop bleeding? I've heard of breakthrough bleeding but this crazy!
What a nightmare! I was only able to make it partway through the second week on these pills. I was bleeding constantly, passed a large piece of uterine tissue and have had the worst cramps and back pain of my life! What a horrible pill. Now waiting for the withdrawl bleeding.. that should be fun. I wish all of you the best luck. So long lo lo.
I just stopped taking these pills halfway through the pack. I am experiencing hormone withdrawl bleeding now. I hope it will go away in a couple of days. Good luck.
I stopped taking mine and a week later I finally stopped bleeding. So wish you the best of luck. (:
I see there is really no good repots on this pill. I just started and i have been bleeding none stop and the cramps is like labor pains I want to stop but Iam trying to wait it out but i can't take it.
As of today I'm quitting lo loestrin fe. I'm on the 3rd week of my second pack..and So far I've bled over 20 days in a month and a half. My first period with the pill was God awful. Blood pouring down my legs. It was ridiculous. It stopped for a few days. Then I started my second period.. It was lighter, but lasted about 6 or 7 days. And then 9 days later I've started a 3rd period. And it's worse than all of them. I'm done with this Bullcrap. Ain't worth it. I have a kid, husband, and house to take care of. Having a period all the time is literally draining me.
I have been on this pill for almost a year now. I started taking it to make my horrible regular periods lighter and less hurtful. I have had break through bleeding a little too often. I got horrible migraines and NO medicine would help. I noticed my moods had become super depressed, high anxiety. Monday morning I woke up thinking I got stabbed in my sleep with blood soaked through my underwear. It has only been 6 days but has only gotten worse. I stopped taking the pill today. I am glad I am not alone! I would not recommend this pill to anyone, not even my worst enemy. I am not one to write bad reviews about experiences, etc. but will sure as hell be giving my opinion to the FDA about this. There is no way it can be safe.
I've now taken a month's worth and did not even have a period when I was suppose to. If you do not need the low estrogen, then you will bleed heavier and longer. I needed less and that's why I haven't bled. It sounds like you need more estrogen.
Okay ladies here's my first month's Lolo experience, I took the blue pills for exactly 3 weeks (about 19 days) and then began feeling period cramps, then my period/breakthrough bleeding began on day 20 of the blue pill so as of tomorrow I will have taken 4 blue pills while actively bleeding then there will be 2 white pills so that will be 6 days of bleeding. I dont know if this is normal or not but it's not like my normal period because it is constantly bleeding and also bright red with some uterine lining for days now. I was thinking that this could have perhaps been an extremely early miscarriage? Not sure really but hopefully I wont get two periods in a row...only three more pills left one blue two white then i will not be sticking with this form of BC in the future b/c based on the majority of the posts here...it simply doesn't get much better. Thank you all for taking the time to share. I am sad that I can't continue on this pill though b/c for me it regulated my emotions within 3 days of being on the pill and cleared up my acne; plus I felt so much more feminine on this pill and my breasts became larger however the continuous bleeding is just not something I am willing to adjust to since even my normal period isnt so difficult to deal with...like other ladies on here i ruined my comfy panties :(
I started taking Lo Loestrin Fe on July 31st 2012. It has low estrogen amounts so I was not worried at all, yet I was wrong.
I have stomach issues (gas/bloating), bad headaches, hungry ALL the time, tired, and sex drive as decreased-
My boyfriend has noticed this in the last weeks of taking this, I just can't deal with it and I am stopping tonight-
I am 42 years old, and went on Lo Loestrin fe because I wanted to regulate my very heavy and very painful periods. The first pack was okay. I did have a terrible all-over pimple problem. I mean little pimples literally all over my face, especially my forehead. But I stuck with it because I figured it would get better with time, and it did improve my mood. My first period on Lo Lo was actually heavy. Was pretty disappointed with that. But I kept taking it thinking that it would get better with time. Pimples never got better. And by my second to third week of the second pack, I started to get PMS, and have a full blown period. I just kept on bleeding daily, without no end in sight. Around that time, I had gotten an intravaginal sonogram. The bleeding was so heavy and continuous that I thought that I had a perforation and that I was hemorrhaging. I called my gynecologist and switched to loestrin fe 24. I'm on my second day on loestrin. I'm still bleeding, but not as much, and my pimples are beginning to clear up. I think Lo Loestrin should be withdrawn. I think it doesn't have enough ethinyl estradiol.
I totally agree - six months of continuous bleeding from breakthrough to heavy clotting and everything in between - with all the discomfort and inconvenience that goes with it - stopped IMMEDIATELY when I switched from Loestrin 24 to Genneress due to fibroids at age 39 (now 40). I was ready to give up and go back to unbearable periods or to pay out of pocket for Mirena which for reasons unknown and unfair is not covered by my dual insurance. But I wasn't convinced about or ready for the implant and my doc sounded like she'd be more willing to go full hysterectomy than try less radical surgery, again for reasons I don't fully get, when on a whim she suggested there was one more thing we could try - increased mg of hormones by switching pills. Thank goodness because I was beyond wit's end. It's still only the third week after switching but knock on wood so far so good with no side effects. Let's see after 3 months or 6 months or 3 years...but this switch has made an indescribable improvement in my quality of life, happiness and well being.
wow, sounds like everyone is having the same issues as me. I am finishing my 4th pack of lo loestrin now and every 10 days i have a period. the first one is normally 7 days long, and when i get to my brown pills it is only about 4 days long. in a week and a half i am finished with this pack and going back to the tri sprintec i was on 4 years ago... i never had this constant bleeding with any other pill and it is rather annoying. plus i have been extremely tired and slightly moody as well.. with a lot of hair loss as some others had stated. good luck!
I just started it and im barely sick at all. if anything its for a short period of time then its over. i do get mild cramps once in a while. but i hope this one works for u!
When you stopped taking them, did the bleeding stop?? My boyfriend is visiting me at college from out of state next week and if you can understand, I do not want to be bleeding.
I've been taking this pill for 18 months. 1sr month ok then started having periods every 2 weeks on & off. I take my pill every single night never missed one ever!! I have a 3.5 yr old & 2 yr old & just found out today I'm 3 weeks pergnant! Wouldn't recommend this pill ever!!!!! Switch before its to late
Hi Ive been on this pill for almost 3 weeks and started having bleeding a week and a half into the pack and its alost been 8 days and the bleeding is still going. My doctor saids its normal bcuz its thinning the lining of ur uterus so that u have lighter periods in the future!! Im trying my best to hang in there!!! UGHH
This is how I feel...I bleed for 8 weeks and 2 of those weeks is when I started these pills. Now im almost done with the pack only two pills left and nothing no bleeding feel sick and really really moody I feel like I want to literally jerk a head off. My sex drive has also decreased and my hubby really isnt happy with it im bout to say screw all birth control bc nothing seems to be good enough.
I am losing it. I am about to finish week 2 of lo loestrin fe and I'm a total b****. It makes me emotional and angry and I've been bleeding non stop since halfway through the first week and the cramps are horrible. I'm anemic as it is already so this constant bleeig can't be good for me. My doctor is encouraging me to stay on it for at lead two month but I can't do that. It's too uncomfortable. What would happen if I just stopped taking it now would I continue to bleed for long does anybody know?
I stopped mid way through my first pack/month and bled lightly for 3-4 more days and my period came two weeks after that bleeding stopped. So basically, I just started my period (which was completely normal) in six weeks instead of 4 weeks. I have been regular ever since with no ill effects.
okay so i have been on lo loestrin fe for almost a whole month. i started taking it the day i got it. and didn't wait until my period to start because then i would be waiting a whole month to kick in. and besides taking it to prevent getting pregnate, i needed it for cramps(and all that other gross stuff that comes with being a woman on there period.) i started my period about a week ago, which is normally a 3-4 day thing. but im still bleeding. not as heavily. but its still there more or less. the doctor did stay this might happen if i didn't start on my period, but im curious. who here has had this problem, and how long did it last? should i stop taking it or keep going on to the neck packet?
