My BP dropped within 30 minutes to 83/60 after just 1 dose. It has been 3 days now and my BP hovers between 83/60 and 111/63. I'm now a bit concerned because my BP is usually 134/90-140/95 (sometimes higher) and this just seems a bit low. Is this normal after just 1 dose? ## Hello, Cattz! How are you? While the 134 and 140 are not dangerous numbers, the 90 and 95 are concerning, normal is considered a systolic of 120 or less, and a diastolic of 80 or less and it should be treated to lower it to more normal and safer levels. As to the Lisinopril/HCTZ, no that is not normal after just one dose. But what I'm wondering is if the 161/102 reading was just a temporary elevation due some...
Hello I have been taking a blue oval lisnopril 10-12.5 hctz once day. Can I cut this dose in half as I feel that dose is to high for me. There is no score line but have a pill cutter.. ## Ask your Doctor he/she may have something better in mind for you. Don't be doing such things on your own unless ;you are your own MD. ## I'm not suggesting you do this without discussing it with your doctor first, but I will say that cutting a pill in half to take a smaller dosage should not be a major concern as long as the tablet is not an extended/time-released formula. The notion that doing such a thing may be harmful without a doctor's supervision or say so, is "not always true" in my experience. In cases like this, taking the full dosage or tablet more than likely presents a g...
side effects of 25mg ## Lisinopril is used to lower and control high blood pressure. The side effects of high blood pressure medication aren't nearly as threatful as hypertension itself. I am not an MD, so I cannot say how 25 mg of Lisinopril will affect you. I do suggest though, that you take a look at the following link for a more descriptive explanation on Lisinopril... The most common side effects associated with Lisinopril and most other high blood pressure medications are as follows: Dizziness, lightheadedness, fatigue, fever or chills, difficulty swallowing, difficulty breathing, fast or uneven heart beat, palpitations, chest pain, numbness or tingling in your fingers or toesdecreased amount of urine, skin rash, itching, change in taste, cough, swelling of your face / lips / ...
I Have Lisinopril & Would Like To Know What It Treats ,What Time Of Day To Take It ... ## Hi Richie, According to NIH, Lisinopril is classified as an ACE inhibitor, indicated for use in treating high blood pressure as well as heart failure. Concerning what time of day it should be taken is entirely up to you and your doctor. To my knowledge there are no specific details in the manufacturer's product pamphlet that suggest taking it at a given time of day. Furthermore, information I have read on dosing only depicts it as being taken once daily. With that said, I'd encourage you to contact your prescribing doctor for administrative protocols that are right for you. And to answer the question in your thread title, "Lupin" is simply the name of the drug manufacturer (Lupi...
Been taking 40mg. Of lisinpril and 10mg of norvas for years started getting lightheaded and dizzy so they cut my lisinpril to 20mg, kept the norvas the same, BP been good but now having bad headaches, still some lightheaded moments. Can lowering the lisinpril cause the headaches? ## Hello, Kell! How are you? Yes, it can cause headaches, according to the NIH, as well as nausea, dizziness, elevated blood pressure, and elevated heart rate. Things should improve, after a few weeks, once your body gets used to the change, if the headaches don't improve, or if they get worse, you should consult your doctor, to be safe. Is there anything else I can help with?
I accidentally took a double dose of my meds this morning. Took 2 lisinopril 10 mg each 2 claritan 24 hr dosage and 2 ibuprofen. Just worried about it. Will I be ok? ## Hello, Jamie! How are you? Did you experience any adverse effects? Generally, once extra dose of each shouldn't be a problem, but may cause you to experience more side effects than usual, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomach irritation. But, when in doubt, it is always best to check with your doctor, or your local poison control.
Hi there. I have been on Lisinopril 5mg PO QD for almost a year now. My prescription ran out and I went 4 days without it before I had the chance to get it refilled. After the second day, I started to notice a dull headache. Could going off such a low dose for such a short period of time cause headaches? ## Hello, Sunshine! How are you doing? Has there been any change? Yes, you may experience headaches, when you abruptly stop taking such a medication, according to FDA reports. You may also experience nausea, diarrhea, and rebound high blood pressure and elevated heart rate. Thus, it is always best to make sure that you don't run out, by picking up your prescription a day, or two ahead of time. If you find you have no refills, please call your doctor's office, in advance, since t...
I started taking 5mg of Lisinopril about 2 years ago. Within a month or less I started having unexplained shoulder pain. Then they raised my dosage to 10mg per day. My joint and tendon pain keeps spreading. It's worst in my knees, but it moves around. I get it in my hands, elbows, hips, ankles, feet and even my neck. It feels like mostly tendon pain and tightness. It's like tendonitis without the swelling, redness and pain to touch. I'm gonna go off the Lisinopril tomorrow to see if it helps. If so I'm curious if anyone has had these issues with Lisinopril and how long they lasted once they were off the medication. ## That can be a side effect of this medication, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination. However...
I was taking the TEVA Triangle shaped 10 Mg. The Drug store switched to a round white one with only a 10 imprinted on it. I am having issues. Who makes this one, and what are the active ingredients as opposed to Teva's ingredients. ## I am pretty sure that the manufacturer of the pill you are describing is Accord healthcare since they make one just like that. Can you confirm if the name is listed or abbreviated on the prescription bottle? The active ingredient should be Lisinopril just like TEVA's version, although the inactive ingredients / fillers / etc may be different. Here's what I'm finding about this pill so far: NDC: 16729-196-01 (can you confirm on your prescription bottle or handout?) Active Ingredient: Lisinopril 10 mg Inactive Ingredients: - Corn Starch - Sil...
I've been on Lisimopril for 4 months and all my hair is falling out I'm so sad by this. Im stopping the meds and seeing my doc. I'm searching for a natural way to control your BP. Will my hair grow back and what alternatives can the doctors give me. I'm very scared and worry about my hair loss and side affects from stopping the meds. ## Hello, Joanna! How are you doing? I strongly urge you not to stop it cold turkey, because doing so creates the risk of dangerously elevated blood pressure and heart rate, which could lead to health problems, such as heart attack or stroke, as reported by the FDA. And yes, there are other options available that your doctor can prescribe, over 100 of them, actually, so I can't possibly list them all. It's really just a matter of tri...

How are you doing? Has there been any change? The ...
I have just been diagnosied with neuropathy side effects of the blood pressure pill do effect blood flow to hands and feet mainly my feet are number a.lot the time do I need to stop these meds ## Hello, Andy! How are you? You should not stop these medications, unless your doctor approves of your doing so. Stopping abruptly creates the risk of your developing dangerous elevated blood pressure and heart rate, which could result in heart attack, stroke, or congestive heart failure, as reported by the NIH. Who told you that the neuropathy was caused by these medications?
my wifes lisinopril-po 20mg tablets twice daily was changed by her Doctor to 40mg's of lisinopril-eq, and I am trying to understand what the difference is between P.O E.Q so I know exactly what this medicine is doing for her overall health. Thank You ## Hello, Slim! How are you? PO just means per os (orally), as in she's supposed to swallow the tablets and the eq means equivalent, as in the pharmacy can give her a generic or multiple tablets/capsules, as long as it is an equivalent dosage. For example, if the pharmacy doesn't have the 40mg on hand, they are allowed to give her 2 of the 20mg ones, or etc. as long as it equals the 40mgs that she's been directed to take. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, heada...
I have been out of lisinopril for a couple of weeks, and have noticed my feet are swelling up, and was wondering if not taking it could cause the swelling. ## Hello, Donna! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you're having. Suddenly stopping such a medication can cause rebound effects, which may include dangerously elevated blood pressure, heart rate, and peripheral edema as you're experiencing, all of which could lead to heart attack, stroke or congestive heart failure. You need to see your doctor to have this checked out, as soon as possible, and in the future, be careful not to run out of your medication. You should always keep a supply on hand and make sure to pick up a refill, before running out. Is there anything else I can help with?
Found this pill portion on the basement counter where my son gets ready for school. Any help id'ing it would be great, as he's been thru rehab as well as counseling. Hoping he's still clean, but I'm going to be vigilant while he's living back home. Any help is appreciated so much! ## Hi Steven - could you please share as many details as you can about this piece of the pill which you found? What color is it? It is more rounded like a pill, or oblong like a tablet? Are there any number of letters appearing on that piece? Hoping it's maybe just part of an over the counter tablet or something. ## Thank you for your reply. I didn't realize that I had completely forgotten to post what little features the broken portion of pill has. This pill is white, with a brown/...
What is the name of a small round white pill with either a W or a M on one side and blank on the other side?? ## Hi 'Me', A white round pill with a capital "W" on one side and blank on the other reportedly contains 2.5mgs of Lisinopril. This medication is generally prescribed for high blood pressure or heart failure. For verification, the manufacturer is listed as Wockhardt USA. I hope this helps!
Need to know color shape and size of lisinopril tablets by this Mfg Accord. I want to make sure I am taking the right medication. The pills I have has the number 3973 on one side and a v shape on the other. ## This tablet is actually manufactured by Qualitest Pharmaceuticals, but Accord is a licensed distributor and they do list them as containing 20mgs of Lisinopril. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?
I was taking lisnopril 10 mg and my bp was in control. Then I consulted my family doc. He gave me eritel 40, which is not working. My Bp is not lowering. Pls advise. ## Hello, Joseph! How are you? Not every medication works for everyone that tries it. You may need to go back on Lisinopril, or try something else entirely. Why did he changed your medication, since the Lisinopril was working for you? The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Are you on any other medications?
I was taking 25mg tab Hydrochlorothiazide for quite a while, now I have a new doctor and she gives me lisinopril 10mg tab. I am concerned because on the label it says Lup, as the mfg, blue color, with Watson as the mfg. Please help. ## Hello, Mimose! How are you? Sometimes, one is just a licensed distributor for a medication from a different manufacturer, so it is possible that Lupin makes it and it's being distributed by Watson, or vice-versa. What are the markings on them? That would enable me to research it for you and let you know the original manufacturer. Can you please post back and clarify? Thank you! The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. ## I brought my concern to the...
I take 40mg of Lisinopril daily in the mornings. What if I accidentally doubled that dose? ## Hello, Brennan! How are you? Taking a double dose will likely result in your experiencing more side effects, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. It's not a dangerous amount, unless your heart rate and blood pressure are already low, then it may cause fainting, heart failure, respiratory failure or other dangerous issues. Learn More: MedlinePlus If you do accidentally double up, it would be best to inform your doctor, to be safe. Hope this helps! ## Hi. I sorta of done same thing, but didn't double it. I just took it about 15 hrs apart. I take lisinopril/hctz 10-12.5. When I was at the pharmacy early around 4pm it wa...
