I was taking Lisinopril 20 mg V 3973 and it was changed to Lisinopril 20 mg round E 102. They are from different companies. Is this safe to take? ## Since this is a generic medication, it is manufactured by several different companies, so you may not always receive the same ones from your pharmacy, that is completely normal and nothing to worry about. Having multiple manufacturers helps create market competition to try to keep generic prices lower. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Are you on any other medications?

I take Lisinopril -HCTZ-20-12.5 mg twice a day. I noticed on my refill bottle It says Lisinopril 20 mg twice a day. Is that the same or should they be cut in half two times a day or should I call the doctor. Will this cause my heart rate to be higher and blood pressure to higher?. Thank You ## Did your doctor change your prescription? The original contained Lisinopril with Hydrochlorothiazide, while the new one, according to what you've listed, only contains the Lisinopril. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. It is always best to take the one your doctor has directed you to take. Is there a chance your pharmacy made an error?

i take lisinipril 10 mg once a day in the evening.....my bp is perfect all day until around 5pm then spikes up so ill take my pill...all evening im waiting for bp to come down usually takes a good 3 hrs to get good again...how can i better take it to avoid these spikes ## Hello, Danette! How are you? How high is it spiking in the evening? And when are the spikes occurring, are they happening after activity, after eating, or just close to the time of your next dose? Your blood pressure should fluctuate throughout the day, in accordance with some of the things I've already asked about, such as activity, eating, next dose being due and those are just some of the reasons listed by the NIH. I am a high blood pressure/cardiology patient myself, and I have learned that there are certain ti...

I am concerned about my liver enzymes that are continually elevated more each doctor visit. I believe taking Linsinopril 10 mg. is the culprit. However, the doctors always defend the medication. I have been very tired with pain in lower right side. What are we supposed to do...how can I take myself off this medication? ## Are you on any other medications? Do you frequently take Acetaminophen/Tylenol? The reason I'm asking is due to the fact that, as reported by the FDA, Lisinopril is more commonly known to affect the kidneys. Though it has been known to cause cholestatic jaundice in very rare cases. Other typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness and headache. One idea, however, would be to ask your doctor about trying an alternative medication for awhile, to see i...

I have used this medication since January 2015 for blood pressure. Can you tell me the side effects of this medication which may hurt my reproductive organ? ## Hello, Dare! How are you? Lisinopril is classified by the FDA as an ACE inhibitor and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. The only known effect it may have on reproductive organs is that it may cause ED in some men that take it, but that is not permanent and usually resolves, upon switching to a different medication. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I tame 40mg a day of sinopril if I miss a day what symptoms will appear? ## I have been taking ziac for 18 yrs my blood pressure keeps creeping up my doctor prescribed sinopril do you think it is a g...

Been taking 10-12 mg.Lisinopril/Hydro for 2 yrs. My mom just passed away with ARDS and I believe it was caused by her taking Lisinopril. It just scared me so much, that I told my doctor I didn't want to take it anymore. I am also on 25 mg. Metoprolol. My doctor told me to just stop it and visit him in two weeks. So far I feel okay but still have a dry cough now and then and feel like I am fighting a head cold. Does this sound par for the course on this med.? ## Has there been any change? Yes, those can be normal side effects and withdrawal effects of Lisinopril, but things should improve in a few weeks as your body adjusts, according to FDA reports. However, it is best to keep an eye on your blood pressure and heart rate, plus keep all follow up doctor's appointments, just in ca...

Smelly-foul breath wont go away irregardless of what I take. Does Lisinopril cause bad breath? I have tried "EVERYTHING"! ## Yes, that can be a side effect of most medications, according to the FDA, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Have you discussed the issue with your doctor? You might be better served to try a different medication.

My friend is on these three blood pressure meds but is out of the Lisinopril and hasn't taken them for three days. Will he be ok till tomorrow and what can he do to counteract the side effects of being out of the one? ## Since he is on the others, he likely won't experience any severe issues from being out of the Lisinopril, but of course, there is no way anyone can guarantee his safety. In the future, it would be best that he obtain a refill several days, before he runs out. The FDA lists the typical side efects of these medications as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Is he monitoring his blood pressure regularly?

I was changed to lisnopril by my provider because at the moment I think that was what she thought she should do. No real reason. She said atenonol hurt the kidney's. I have read since that all beta blockers do. She checked my urine after the fact, not before giving them to me. Told me to go back on atenonol . No weaning of one and onto the other. My potassium and sodium when low. Ended up in the hospital and felt better until I came home. Sometimes now I'm feeling week and rotten and don't really feel like eating. I'm on potassium pills now etc Just wonder if I'm on Lisinopril for like two or three weeks, when will this feeling go away? ## Yes, you are correct, there is a risk of all of them causing kidney damage, or lowered kidney function. I have been taking Lisinopril /HCTZ 20-25mg. I,m out. I do have a bottle of Lisinopril 2.5 mg that was filled incorrectly, but I still have them. my blood pressure is high 155/96, and I have a terrible headache. is it ok to take the Lisinopril 2.5mg ## It is a much lower dosage, so it may not work as well as the one you are currently prescribed. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. In the future, it would be best to make sure you pick up a refill, before you run out, since missing doses could be dangerous. Have you consulted your doctor?

Lisinopril 20mg; Chlorthalidone 25mg; Amlodipine Besylate 10; Diltiazem Er (cd) 180mg; Fluoxetine 20mg; Cardizem Cd 180mg; Hydrochlorot 25mg Tab Are some of these drugs really duplicates of others? I had been checked by a heart doctor and he says my heart is good, but because I have HBP my doctor has given me all these to take. ## That is a lot of medications to take, but if your blood pressure was dangerously high, they all might be necessary for awhile. Doses can always be lowered later, once it's under control, or medications stopped as they become unnecessary. I was taking a lot, too, at one point in time, and slowly as my blood pressure was gotten under control, I was able to eliminate most of them, so I am now only taking 2 regular daily medications, with a backup prescription...

Is it ok to take these two meds together? Any major side effects from this combination? ## Hello, Karen! How are you? They should not be taken together, without your doctor's approval. According to the FDA listed interactions, Aleve can reduce the efficacy of Lisinopril and combining them could also affect kidney function. Additionally, NSAIDs are not always safe for people with high blood pressure/cardiac conditions, due to the fact that they can elevate blood pressure and cause fluid retention. Is there anything else I can help with?

my blood pressurepres too high can i take 2 tablets of lisinopril hctz dosage 20 / 25 ## Hello, Manish! How are you? What do you consider too high? It is normal to experience fluctuations throughout the day, according to the NIH, it can be affected by activity levels, diet, stress and etc. As to the medication, you should not exceed your doctor's dosing instructions. This medication will not work immediately to lower blood pressure, even at a higher dose. It takes about 4 weeks to reach its full level of efficacy in your body. Are you on any other medications? Has anything changed in your diet, activity levels or have any other lifestyle changes occurred recently?
