I was changed to lisnopril by my provider because at the moment I think that was what she thought she should do. No real reason. She said atenonol hurt the kidney's. I have read since that all beta blockers do. She checked my urine after the fact, not before giving them to me. Told me to go back on atenonol . No weaning of one and onto the other. My potassium and sodium when low. Ended up in the hospital and felt better until I came home. Sometimes now I'm feeling week and rotten and don't really feel like eating. I'm on potassium pills now etc Just wonder if I'm on Lisinopril for like two or three weeks, when will this feeling go away?

Yes, you are correct, there is a risk of all of them causing kidney damage, or lowered kidney function. My cardiologist makes sure to check my kidney function upon occasion to make sure no problems are developing.

It may take 4 to 5 weeks for such side effects to go away and you to start to feel better, as your body adjusts to the various changes your doctor has made to your medications, according to the FDA.

The potassium can be very harsh on the stomach, so please make sure to take it with food.

Is there anything else I can help with?
