I've been taking lisinopril 20 mg twice daily for several years, filling it through Walmart Mail-Order whose supplier is Lupin Pharmaceuticals. The pills have always been pink and the same size until my most recent refill, when the size is now half of what it was previously, about the same as the hydroclorothiazide (HCTZ) 25 mg pill I take as well. Although the latter is pale peach in color while the former is pink, both pills are round in shape and the similarity between the two is quite problematic, especially for seniors like myself or anyone with poor vision, particularly when trying to distinguish between them in low light. Apparently pharmaceutical companies are legally allowed to change a pill size without FDC permission and with no requirement to advise customers of the chan...

I take 10 miligram Lupin tables - have been taking them 2x a day for 20 years. Today, I opened the bottle and they were 1/2 the size. Same markings on the pill and container, same color, same manufacturer but 1/2 the size. I asked the pharmacy assistant about it and she said the company was making them smaller but they were the same. I asked how they were doing that - were they removing fillers? Why did they have so many fillers in the first place. She said she didn't know, but would transfer me to the pharmacist. I asked the pharmacist and she sounded like she had been asked what the weather would be like the next day - "oh, I don't know...yeah...I don't really know." I don't feel comfortable taking these. ## Yes, in most cases they have changed the fillers they...

Lisinopril - How old is to old to use this medication? My pills are from 2013. Does the pill increase or decrease in potency with age? ## Medications tend to decrease in efficacy with time, according to FDA reports. Although, it is interesting to note that a nurse practitioner recently told me that the U.S. is the only country that actually requires expiration dates for medications. I don't know if that is true, and overall, before using an expired medication, you should double check with your doctor, or pharmacist. The NIH lists the typical side effects of Lisinopril as possibly including nausea, dizziness, increased urination, hypotension, and headache. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have 10mg lisinopril and the label reads "discard after 2/23/16." Is this me...

Read more: Are there any questions or comments? ## Is it okay to split a 10 mg. tablet of lisinopril in half to make it equal to a 5 mg. tablet? ## I am taking a lisinopril 10mg 3 times a day, but I get dizzy on it so I cut it in half and spread it out. I take 20 mg of lisinopril every morning. I went to take my night medicine and accidentally took my blood pressure again. Should I be worried. ## Hello, Wanda! How are you? What are your normal blood pressure numbers? You can safely take up to 40mgs a day, but your blood pressure may go lower than normal, which could cause you to experience nausea, dizziness, headache and hypotension, as reported by the FDA. Did you check in with your doctor? ## Hi can I take the hydroclorothiazide and privinil together in the morning or it's best to take privinil in the evening I have been taking it two days now ## I'm not sure if I took my 20mg of lisinooril today. I am taking Lisinopril 20 along with 11 other medications. I had a major heart attack 6 years ago (but doing great now), have diabetes 2, and narcolepsy. I am really fighting the daytime sleepiness to the point that it is negatively affecting my life. I see where it can cause drowsiness, so I am trying to see if there is an alternative that does not cause drowsiness (I am doing this for all meds that have that warning as well) before I go to the doctor so I have something to present. Thank you for listening ## In your case, it is really hard to say what is causing the drowsiness, it may be one of your medications, or it could be your heart, your diabetes or just the narcolepsy. Thus, I am very glad to hear you'll be consulting your doctor. I am not sure what else you are on, but bei...

My friend has been taking 20 mg lisinopril for about 3 years now. About 9 months ago during/after exercise, she began feeling really dizzy and faint to the point of passing out. She took her blood pressure and discovered it was extremely low each time it happened (e.g., 98/55, etc.). She stops taking the meds for 2-3 days, but feels faint and really awful for at least 2 to 3 days. I keep telling her to tell her doctor. How concerned should she be? ## Well, she should definitely see her doctor, because there are several possibilities of what could be causing the problem and she does need to find out which one it is, so they can remedy the situation. The first possibility is that diet and exercise are keeping her blood pressure low enough, that she no longer needs the medication. 2 to 3 d...

I'm on 10 mg celexa and 2.5 mg lisinopril. I think I may have taken it twice today. I wanna know if I will be fine and if it will affect me? ## There is a risk of you experiencing increased side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, hypotension, and dehydration. How are you doing? Did you experience any adverse effects? Are these the only medications you are currently taking?

Yes i noticed the same thing my 20mg pills were half the size I used to take. My BP spikes to 180 over 120 when normaly it was 125 over 75. I think they changed the pill, my Dr switched me to another BP med & everything is back 2 normal. Everybody taking Lisinopril should monitor there BP, dont trust it anymore. ## my BP has been running higher since the size of pill changed. I was before in the normal range and now it is reading much higher. Why is that. ## Pharmacist said no worries - same drug, but I don't believe it. Signs of ED which I never had before. My systolic BP is sometimes, 160, 150, 140. My diastolic is fine. My Dr. wants to increase the lisinopril to 60 mg (taking one of 40 and one of 20). I read that taking 80mg of lisinopril is no better than taking 40 mg, so my question is how 60 mg of lisinopril is going to help, if 80 or 40 have the same effect? ## Yes, the maximum daily dosage is 40mgs, it's not been found to have any benefit over that dosage. Have you discussed this with your doctor? There are other medications you can try that may give you better BP control. ## I was taking 40 mg lisinopril and my BP was still very high. Approx 200/90 at night. Dr upped lisinopril to 40 mg in the morning and 20 mg more in the afternoon. Now my BP is about 105/50 in the morning and about 150/85 in the evening. I'm feeling shaky...

I need a list of blood pressure medications that do not contain sulfa as I have an allergy to sulfa and so far have been on 4 different meds that all made my throat swell. I took: Lisinopril, Amlodipine, Metoprolol, Methyldopa. So it’s generic or sulfa that’s the problem in these. ## How severe was the swelling? Was this diagnosed by a doctor? Did you go to the ER for treatment? It isn't that they all contain sulfa, it is that they might be based on it, somewhere down in their roots of derivation. In many cases, the only thing you can do is try medications, to see which ones work for you, and which ones cause a bad reaction, according to FDA warnings. Was the swelling bad enough to cause trouble breathing? I am not trying to be mean, or say I don't believe you, but m...

I've been taking lisinopril, lupin 20 mg. for a number of years My last rx was refilled recently and the pharmacy substituted it with actavis 20 mg. With the lupin, my b.p. readings were always good. With the actavis my b.p.is elavated. I have also experienced a terrible rash and intermittent hives. Could the change in meds have caused this? Yesterday I was prescribed verapamil. (haven't started to take it yet). The pharmacy has filled the prescription with verapamil-ER 120 mg MYLAN. I have severe chemical allergies (paraphenadiamine, Balsam of Peru, methylcloroisothiolizone, quinoline mix and wool alchohols). My outbreak may not have anything to do with the med change, but I thought I should investigate all avenues. ## Actavis is the manufacture and I don't take lisinopril ...

I was dropped from consultants in pain management due to my blood pressure being high twice within 10 days. I now am on new medication, 40 mg Lisinopril and my blood pressure is back to normal. This means, that I am in search of a new specialist. I am 63 years of age and still working after numerous surgeries from injuries that are all documented. I am leaving for Baltimore Maryland in a week but will need to have a prescription with me in order to perform my duties. Can anyone suggest a provider for me? Thank you in advance. ## That is very odd, that's not a normal reason for them to dismiss someone, usually they give you a chance to see your primary care physician, or a cardiologist to get it under control. How high was it? Can you post back with some of the readings? The FDA list...
