Lisinopril Hctz 20/12.5 Mg

Hello, a few days ago I went to the ER because my BP was extremely high, 208/110. I believe this because I have gained about 30 lbs and have not been eating very healthy lately. I am 39 years old and I was not currently on any blood pressure medication but I have been in the past. I was off about a year. The ER was able to get my BP down and the Dr. gave me a prescription for Lisinopril HCTz 20/12.5 I have been on this in the past but a lower dosage. I have only been on this meds for 2 days and it does lower my BP but it is too low. This morning it was 108/77. I feel very weak with no energy, sleepy, and somewhat depressed. I am worried it is lowering my blood pressure too much and I'm scared I will have hypotension. Can I stop taking this med since it's only been a couple of days or at least cut it in half? Please help thanks so much!

If you have already had high blood pressure, why did you stop taking your medications?

There is no cure for hypertension, it can only be managed, and if you do not do so, it may go up, again, which could cause heart attack, stroke, or congestive heart failure.

The symptoms you are experiencing can be normal side effects, according to FDA reports. They should improve, once your body gets used to the medication, but that may take 4, to 5 weeks.

Are you on any other medications? What types of foods do you eat? How much do you currently weigh?
