i was given this drug as an alternative for my high blood pressure medication lisiopril seems to be making me feel lousy

The new medication you've been given combines the ACE inhibitor Lisinopril, with the diuretic Hydrochlorothiazide, which is used to help reduce the amount of water in the body.

The addition of the diuretic can cause most side effects, such as dizziness, drowsiness and stomach pain.

In addition, it creates a very real risk of dehydration, if you aren't taking in enough fluids.

Some of the symptoms of dehydration may include: dizziness, leg/muscle cramps, severe malaise/fatigue, increased thirst and hypotension.

When taking this medication, you should make sure to take in, at least, 2 liters of liquids, each day. That way you make sure your body has enough fluid and the medication can just remove the excess.
