Linzess Weight Gain (Page 2) (Top voted first)

I was just prescribed Linzess for my IBS. I am wondering if others on this medicine have experienced wieght gain?

Publix dumps them in their prescription bottles, as well. I had to tell them not to do that.

It's weird how it works. I actually quit taking it completely. And I am feeling much better WITHOUT it. Give it a try and see if it works for you. The medication works differently depending on the person. And ALWAYS talk to your doctor about your conerns first!

Hi Tia! I never had a weight problem either nor was it in my genetics. I gained about 20 pounds. Stopped the Lizness about at year or two ago and still have not lost the weight. I eat very little. I have just never seen anything like this. It's awful and will NEVER take the Lizess again.

Yes. I gained over 30 lbs. and I'm still trying to get it all off. I thought it would help me and, initially, it did. I could finally have a regular bowel movement but then it stopped working as well. Then came the weight gain. I still can't fit in my jeans. I'll never take Linzess again

I’ve been on Linzess for 4 days and am spilling out of my clothes! I just wore this same outfit last week and had to change because everything is so tight and uncomfortable. Just last week my dad said I look like I lost weight. I webt began to see if it helped my stomach pain. Doc prescribed Linzess and I thought I was crazy today when none of my clothes fit! Keep in mind I work out 3-5 days a week and run for 30-45 min after strength training. Will definitely be calling my doc tomorrow cause the only thing I’ve changed was taking Linzess.

Hello. Make sure you have the desiccant in that bottle. Also the manufacturer says only fill that in the original manufacturers bottle. Check with pharmacist on expiration.

I have been off of the Lizness since my last post on here in January 2016. I have not lost this weight YET! very frustrated and would not recommend Lizness to anyone!!!!!!!

The exact same thing happened to me. I have been off of it for a long time now. I've lost a few pounds but not much. I WILL NEVER TAKE IT AGAIN!

My doctor told me to never use the Miralax while I was taking the linzess possibly the combination of the two could cause problems
Maybe you should ask your doctor mine wasn't specific on what taking them together would cause I have gut demotility caused by mitochondrial disorder

I have been taking this pill for chronic constipation, for seven months, since I gain 17 pounds. It shows mostly in my stomach, so bad that my ribs hurt. After reading all these reviewes, THE LINZEN SHOULD BE DISCONTINUED.

I have HORRIBLE gas, the number of BM' s is about 3-4 in the morning, but the other problem I am having is that I pee many, many more times. I hate this.

Hi girl, I feel your pain. I never had any problem with body weight or weight gain even after childbirth. Like the others on this thread I would bounce right back. I've been taking linzess for over two years and have gone from a size 4 to a whopping size 10 now. I've been exercising, eating healthy, eating much less, and counting calories, and nothing seems to work. Since you have stopped taking the linzess have you lost that excess weight and is your body excreting the waste normally or are you back to being constipated. Because I seriously want to stop taking them too??

Yes, I am experiencing the ongoing hunger and I am gaining weight. I only started a couple of weeks ago, and Amitiza did not work for me, but I am thinking of switching back to it.

Been on Linzess 145 mcg and although it initally worked, after 4 weeks it has not helped at all. I also have gained 5 lbs in the first 4 weeks. I am stopping this medication as I don't need weight gain that makes me feel even more uncomfortable than I am with constipation!

I could understand going to the gym why am I gaining weight. I eat right. My ankles and legs are swollen' I don't know what to do I need to get this weight off

I have IBS - c to my upper testine is fluied and gas and rumble sound in it it fells like I'm going to explore were I'm so full of back up and fluied and gained weight idid weight 140 now I'm 162 I was going up and down on thses noiw I stay the same and I'm 45 can some tell me about linzess will it help with constipation and fluied and back up

I was wondering after you stopped taking them if you noticed your weight and body normalize again. I am going through excessive weight gain and hunger. It sucks and I want to stop taking them today!

I hate this f***ing drug. I took linzess for one month for chronic constipation. I was 170 pounds. Now I'm down to 150. In one month I loose 20 pounds. I will never take that s*** again. Now I'm so miserable trying to gain one single pound for the last 3 weeks and nothing. Still weigh 150 pounds I don't know what the hell this drug did to my body.
