Lexamil Side Effects (Page 2) (Top voted first)
UpdatedIs there anything that anybody can tell me about Lexamil?
Hi everyone. I just wanted to say that being on Lexamil has been a true boon for me. I was diagnosed with Major Depression only two years ago but under therapy found out that I have been suffering from the disease since I was 12. I am now 34. It has changed my life. Sure, there are side effects, but they can be overcome. In the 20 odd years that I was sick without knowing it, I had to learn to manage my emotions and only when it got really bad I went looking for help. As I said, the Lexamil will stabilize your moods and help you to function better. I have social anxiety disorder as well as a result of the depression and the Lexamil has helped with that too. If you are new to using Lexamil, don't fret, there isn't anything to be scared of. Being always aware of what your emotional state is and taking the drug in conjunction with some therapy can work wonders.

Hallo Gina. You must first give the medication some time to start working. After about 3 weeks you wil see results. Don't stop your Masters - just take it easy. If you don't feel significantly better after a month, see a psychiatrist so that he can maybe work on your dopamine levels. You will get through this.
Hey Hey
Dont worry about this. It take 4-6 weeks before you will see any change. Be patient, because you will feel ten times better. Hang in there.
i have not gained weight and my nausea passed - my sex drive is low but it was low because of the depression anyway - my life is better with lexamil
Hi Marli. You need to give it some time. You will soon feel better. If you don't feel better after a month, you might have to go back to your psychiatrist for a re-evaluation. He may add Wellbutrin to your meds. Hang in there.
Hi there
thanks for the guidance guys...will see what happens by 4 weeks..
since the time I wrote the previous post and this one, I have a very strange effect, tingling sensations through my body....but I am hanging in there and giving it time...
Most people gain weight. You will also gain weight in areas you do not normally store fat on your body and getting rid of it will be a pain. If you had problems with your appetite before, prepare for carb cravings. Lexamil also tends to mess with your sleeping patterns if you do not practice fairly strict sleep hygiene. Set a reasonable sleeping pattern for yourself and try to make it habitual by taking sleeping pills for a week or so. Do not fall into the pattern of taking naps during the day. If you have problems with waking up or going to sleep, get someone to phone you or appoint a family member to nag you into following your sleep pattern. Do not quit Lexamil cold turkey - many people experience withdrawal symptoms and rebounds of their depression or anxiety if they quit. You have ho quit under medical supervision.
Hi there
I have been on Lexamil for 5 months and the result so far is good. no more side effect, but I changed my pill from morning to night...Weight is fine, I only eat banting way....dry mouth still..bitter taste still...I actually love the way I feel on it...
Hope it will help for you :)
Just hang on there...within a few weeks you should be all happy again...
see you are religious...God will also Bless you and hold your hand through this...let me know how you are doing...
I've been on Lexamil for four days now. Found that it is making a difference. I have had weight gain though.
I have been on a daily 5mg dosage of lexamil for two weeks for pms related anxiety and depression. I am 23 years old and found a severe drop in my sex drive and i have put on at least 2 kg. Not worth it if you ask me - will look for natural pms relivers!!!!
Yes, those are normal side effects of these types of drugs. Natural remedies, however, can have just as many side effects, if not more, so please consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Thank you guys for your inputs, however, as a married man I cannot compromise my marriage due to low libido because it was ve serious with me.I dicided to discontinue it.
Another problem was bad toothache for which lexamil was a culprit.I discovered that from the internet. Surely, after its dicontinuation the toothache stopped. I am fine without lexamil. Before, I was helpless and hopeless and scared of life. But now all that ceased after two weeks taking this notorious lexamil.
I have been on Lexamil 10 mg for two months now and I feel great. No side effects what so ever.
I have been on lexamil for 6months now and feel great. But their are days that I still wake up feeling anxious and still forget things. Is Lexamil really working for me!!!!!!
HI there.
Yes, I was on Cilift adn changed to Lexamil. Been on it for 3 months and I have picked up in excess of 5 kg. When I approached my doctor he said that this is not possible. HOwever I eat as normal and i have started more exercise. It helps, but the weight gain is a worry!
I was on Cilift for 5 months and picked up quite a bit of weight. It didn't work so well for me. Doc changed it to Lexmil bec its supposed to work slightly better. I have been on it for just over a week and already feel better. I just hope I don't pick up any more weight!!
I am taking anti-depressents for 21/2 years now to treat my PMS from hell. It does help alot and over the 21/2 years change my meds 3 times. I have started lexamil 5 weeks ago, hoping I would regain my energy levels, lost libido and to stop gaining weight as I have gained 10kg's during the 21/2year period. Before Lexamil I took Cillift for 11/2 years. Has anybody else changed over with beter results or worse???
Hey Mandy! I was at my doc 3 days ago he said he wants me to take it for at least a year or two because even if you feel good after one or two months... if you stop to soon u will be more depro than you started.. So if you do go back on it stay on it for long even if you feel dandy!!! If been on it for 3 days now and i must say im not that hungry! And to everyone that is saying they have gained weight... id like to remind you that because of depression you tend to eat more... it takes about 6 weeks for lexamil to work as it should! Once the pill has started to work you will lose weight coz you wont constantly eat!! Please guys stay on your lexamil long enough to give it a fare chance of working!!!
