Is there anything that anybody can tell me about Lexamil?

Don't think so Clement. I never experienced it. Had clenched jaws in the first few months and affected libido but otherwise its fine.

Hi there.ive been on Lexamil for a month now and find I have no sex drive or cant reach orgasm and also am having the worst nightmares ive ever experienced in my entire life.Any suggestions???

I had the same side effects. I also experienced clenched jaws. To better this, discuss with your doctor the possiblity to use Welbruten in conjunction with Lexamil.

I was under the impression Lexamil should always be taken in the morning, I do, but in this discussion I see that some people take it in the evenings, before bed. Does Lexamil tend to make you a little drowzy or keep you awake. I get very sleepy in the afternoon & need to give myself a kick with a strong cup of coffee. I'm also on Redilanz & azor.

No, I don't think it makes you drowsy. I take mine also in the morning.

Hi, is anyone still on this forum? I have been on lexamil one week ago. I was on cilift prior to that. Most of my anxiety symptoms show improvement but I still get anxious and struggle to eat. Has anyone else experienced this and is there light @ the end of the tunnel?

The nightmares may be caused by heart rate falling below individual acceptability. I experienced the same when I was prescribed a beat blocker some years ago.

i was on Lexamil for 5 months and just stopped it 3 weeks ago, feeling terrible, dizzy, feeling like im in a tunnel, tired,no balance, bloated, nasues and very aggresive. Went back to doc as i didnt know what was wrong, thought i was having a stroke or something, only to find out it was because i left the Lexamil. She put me on new meds, cant wait for them to start working as im terrible state.

Shees, Cheeky.You mean you just stopped the Lexamil? No wonder you felt so bad. You should have weened yourself with the help of the doctor. Good luck with the new meds.

Hi There, I'll be on Lexamil 20mg's for two years now this September 2013. I take a 10mg in the morning and then 1 in the evening. My doc prescribed it with Urbanol which I found is better for the anxiety part. I used to get a panic attack once a day and the severity from it decreased from a 10/10 to a 1/10

I have been on lexamil 20mg for almost 8 months now, though my depression is much better and I have not gained that much weight, my sex drive is totally gone! This is causing enormous stress in my relationship because we have always had a great sex life. Now I only feel like sleeping all the time, I have almost no emotions and I don't even want to be held or touched. Don't know if anyone has had the same experience, but I need help. I have read that you should'nt just stop using lexamil, but what should I do, it helps for one problem then causes another!

Lee, you need to speak to your psychiatrist. Maybe he can prescribe Welbutrun as well.

I started Lexamil 10mg yesterday for a repeat of 6 months. I'm scared of gaining weight and curious as to whether the medication itself makes one gain weight or the medication's effect on one's appetite?

been on 20mg of Leximal now... been halving it as I feel so Tired all the time... and when I do sleep I have awful nitemares and dreams... I also struggle to sleep at nite... The latest side affect is extreme bone and muscle ache in my legs and arms. The pain in my left leg is so bad it hinders my gate and pulsates with continuous waves of dull deep aching pain... Ive also just crashed so badly emotionally i wonder if changing from Ciprimal to leximal was such a good idea. It doesnt seem to dull the Anxiety and or even the Angry spurts of emotions. Im at the end of my teather here and dont know if this is the drug for me or if I should just go back onto Ciprimal. Does it get better or should I cut my Losses now and cease taking this toxin....?

I found John and Jessica's replies VERY positive-I was on Depnil a Moclabamide for over 10years-had a severe dip 2 years ago waking up with severe anxiety making it difficult to get up in the mornings,after seeking help by many Dr's I am on Lexamil after weaning off my others-started 3days ago on Christmas and after churchservice felt so tired and nauseas!I too was so scared to take the pills,its the first SSRI the Dr started me on-i lost 10kg on Depnil-but its because of the dip that I didne feel like eating-now with Lexamil my appetite not well due to anxiety and nausea.I know I must give it time-but I just want to live life again as normal-low sex drive is common -its more the low moods that causes the disinterest -and fears.But I trust it will get better,I don't feel ashamed of taking this meds-cause some people can cope without it and others needs to take meds to help!

How long are u on it for now? for the first time in 8 days I could manage to get out of the house. im still on low dosage of 5ml. headache better today, but feel if I'm just floating. came back home to lie down again. Hope it pass soon-feels so lustless and just want to relax.
