I filled a prescription for Levothyroxine Sodium 75mcg from Combitic Global, but these look nothing like the American version. They have no markings but the outside blister packs do say levothyroxine sodium 75 and give manufacturing dates etc. They don't look like synthroid. It's a little concerning since I take drug panels and don't want to take something illegal and certainly don't want to know I wasted my time on something dangerous or completely useless. They are round and rounded in the middle and yellow. I haven't taken them yet. Anyone have any experience with these?

I have been taking this for yeas, suddenly, I've developed a rash that comes and goes, and wonder id\f anyone else has had this problem.....my doctor has prescribed prednisone, but I think my dosage is to high....help ## Hello, Harvey! How are you? Skin rash can be a side effect of this medication, but it is a normal one and doesn't necessarily mean that your dosage is too high, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience dizziness, weight changes and hair loss. When were your levels last checked? Your dosage should be dependent on them.

I have been having a severe adverse reaction to Levothyroxine with endless different symptoms depending on what brand I have been given. I am now unable to take more than 50 mg of Mercury Brand only. If I try to put it up to 75 mg I become very ill. After much research I have found information most from Thyroid UK about Natural Desicated Thyroid which is made from pig glands, Levothyroxine is synthetic. I have asked my GP to provide a Special Prescription for this, I am, however not holding out a lot of hope here that I am going to get it, despite Thyroid UK saying that GP's can prescribe it on Special Prescriptions. Has anyone managed to get their GP to prescribe it? Can they advise me on the best way to go about this? Also if I go ahead in desperation and buy it on a Private Presc...

Hi, I am 24. We were planning to ttc soon so I went for a Pap smear & my doctor said to do blood test in which I was diagnosed with low thyroid & then I started to take levothyroxine! This is my second week on medication! The day before I first started to take levothyroxine I had spotting which should have turned into a period but as I started taking the medication the spotting was stopped & I didn't have my periods! My lmp was December 11th, I did not have a period since then! My doctor is saying I might have pcos too which is making my periods late! So I wanted to know when will I start getting my regular periods? Doctor told me to not get pregnant for at least 4 months so we've planned to start ttc-ing from June onwards! But still I don't have any sign of my p...

I've been on some kind of thyroid medicine for nearly ten years. Maybe two occassions where my prescription has had to be altered. They want me to come in every six months for a check up, which is one vile of blood and not even a 1/2 hour consultation. I can't afford to go that often and they just cut my refills until i set up an appointment. Is this legal or am i just going to javeto deal with this kind of thing for the restof my life. Why can't i set up an appointment when i feel the effects kicking in, i know this condition so well i can tell when things will start happening. Like the weight gain, fatigue, getting cold easy. ## Not "legal". File a complaint with your state's medical bureau. That said, have you told your Dr's office you can't afford to ...

I went to the doctor after he ran some blood work on me, he told me that my thyroid is sluggish and prescribed me 50mcg of levothyroxine. Does this mean that I have Hypothyroidism? My mother has it and she told me that I am at risk for having it as well.I have a lot of the symptoms and that was why I went to the doctor in the first place but he doesn't explain things at all and I have been looking for a new doctor but have had no luck. Please help! Thank you in advance. ## Yes, that would be hypothyroidism, or on the verge of developing it. But it never hurts to double check by asking your doctor to be specific, or consulting another for a second opinion. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Levothyroxine as possibly including nausea, dizziness, hair loss, mood swings and weigh...

Hi! So I changed location and in the process of lookin for a new doc I ran out of my Levo. I take 50mcg a day. My appointment is not until a week from now. So I will be with no medicine for a week but I am so worried because they say to never discontinue it. When I was put in it, my thyroid level was on the low end of the normal range. I don't think is my thyroid that creates the issue but a 3-4mm pituitary tumor which was found nearly 4 years ago after the birth of my son. However, I've not had any issues or symptoms taking Levo. It has worked just fine. Now I'm am worried reading about all that can happen when you are off it! Can you please helping me with more info and options what to do! ## Hello, Tillie! How are you? Have you gotten back on our medication, yet? Being of...

I started taking this drug about 8 weeks ago. After 6 weeks my blood was checked and levels were still high so doc increase doseage to 50 mcg's a day. This drug does effect my period. My period used to last 5 days, but since I started taking this drug, my period only last 2-3 days, plus it bleeding less. I'm really worry about it. Is this drug mess up my body? ## Have you consulted your doctor? It is possible that your period was actually running a little longer and heavier than it should, due to your thyroid issue and that the medication is now helping with it, however, only your doctor can really help you discover if that is the case. ## What levels were too high? If your doc increased your dose I suspect it was just one level, TSH. Get a copy of your results so that you know ...

Was taking the eltroxin , and because of palpitations ,the doctor change me to euthyrox I have 12 days taking them but still have palpitations every night and sometimes through the day , I need help please ## Hello, Bale! How are you? If you experienced such a side effect with one, it makes sense that you'd also experience it with the new one, since they both contain the same active ingredient, which is Levothyroxine. Other typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly including headache, hair loss and weight changes. However, unless there is some other problem going on, such as a heart issue, palpitations aren't usually anything to worry about. It is actually you just becoming aware of your heartbeat, when you usually aren't. In most cases, they are benign and th...

To all of you: Besides myself , my mother-law and three friends have Hypothyroidism. My mother n law was so over active, she had it remove. She is on "The MAX." dose of this medicine AND "JUST FINE!" (Never sick) In total myself, her and 3 other people take Lev! NONE OF US have any of the above happen. However, Before I found out, I was hypo, there was the main issues 1) Depressed, 2) Anxiety Attacks, 3) Constipation, 4) No energy. Plus, I "Always needed a nap daily, after work." 5) My hands and feet were always cold and 6) FELT DETACTHED like DP OR DR , more D.R. (Derealization) Lastly I was losing hair, more than normal. A doctor did a T3&T4 (just to make sure it wasn't my thyroid being so low) and it was! I started medicine in 2003, and I stopped Spring 2

Where can I go to get an annual exam for levothyroxine ## Hi you can go to your primary care Dr for this test and ask him to check your thyroid you could have under active thyroid or over active thyroid you would know by a simple blood test.good luck! ## If you'd like to get thyroxine testing done you can google HealthCheckUSA. They partner with labs around the country to do thyroid and other lab tests without a doctor's order. These are accredited labs - the one near me is in the building next to the local hospital. I don't know if insurance covers tests done this way- I just paid for my mom's when she was here because I was worried and didn't want to wait for anything. After getting a blood draw, you can just go to the HealthCheckUSA website, type in your login inf...
