For about two months now my vision in my left eye will randomly disappear for 2-3 seconds and then slowly dissipate back to normal. I've been through a litany of exams -- retinal, cardiovascular, MRI/MRA -- that are all coming back clear and now we're wondering if it could be the medications I am on. I am also on humalog, lisinopril and Simvastin. Has anyone experienced symptoms like this with levothyroxine? ## Hello, Julia! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. Looking over your list of mediations, there is a chance that it might be due to the Simvastatin, according to the FDA, it has been known to cause several vision issues, which usually g...

Why are woman prescribed levothyroxine more often than men? ## Women are the ones that most commonly develop thyroid issues, at least according to NIH studies, though I supposed it is possible that they may also just see a doctor more often and end up being diagnosed more than men. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, weight changes, and hair loss. Is there anything else I can help with?
Is levothyroxine the same as levothyroxine sodium? ## Hello, Kim! How are you? Yes, they are the same, one just doesn't list the sodium. The FDA lists the typical side effects for this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, hair loss and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you I have No other questions. ## I now have taken every thyroid med made and have horrible allergic reactions. Even those made from pig, as armour, nature thyroid and Wp. All the synthetic meds causes tick mucose in nose ,eyes and and tightening of throat . Small yellow oblong pill with M or W on one side (depending on how you hold it) and scored down the middle on the other side with a capital L on one side of the scoring and a B on the other side of the scoring. ## Hello, Maude! How are you? I believe the marking you're looking at is actually M L8, it is manufactured by Mylan Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 100mcgs of Levothyroxine, which is used to treat thyroid disorders. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, weight changes, mood swings, and hair loss. Is there anything else I can help with?
I've taken this drug for sometime now, or at least one with a very similar look. Originally I had to be represcribed Levoxyl because of a DYE used in mfg.that made me itch profusely. Is it reasonable to demand name brand from the insurance. Any advice would be extremely appreciated. ## Hello, Shamsrumi! How are you? Are you having a problem with the generics? The only way most insurance plans will cover the name brand is if it's medically necessary. This medication is used to treat thyroid disorders and the FDA states that its most common side effects may include nausea, dizziness, weight changes, mood swings and hair loss. ## Hello. I need your help with the same condition that everyone complains about here. I also have Hypothyroid and are on Levothyroxine Sodium 112 mcg 1/day ...

Hi everyone, I'm a sufferer from hypothyroidism; I was just wondering about how to take Levothyroxine; because I began taking it as one tablet of 25mcg....working up to two...then three...and then finally four 25mcg tablets, at which point a blood test told me through my doctor, that my thyroid was now apparently working well. I figured it would be OK for me now to take just one tablet, of 100mcg, rather than four ( was given a choice of both types). So once my 25mcg tablets started running to run out, that's what I did. However, whether I imagined it or not, I found myself happier on the four X 25mcg than the one X 100mcg. Is this normal? Should I worry? I have more or less run out of the 25mcg tablets for the time being...any suggestions what I might be going through, and what...
Do I have to worry about missing my period while on levothyroxine, since that might be the reason why I missed it? ## Hi. I'm 34 yrs old and I've been on levothyroxine tablets for some 2-3 months. I've been on my period for 5 days with back pain and feeling very crampy. What should I do? Please help me. ## @Cherie, If missing your period becomes a regular thing, I would encourage you to consult your prescribing doctor and/or a gynecologist who specializes in the female reproductive system; more or less just to be on the safe side. However, my understanding is that missing periods may be more common when taking things that alter your hormones. NIH also lists "menstrual changes" as a less common side effect of Levothyroxine. @Fayola, According to NIH, "pain or disc...

What am I to do not only for the side effects but also the weight gain. HELP!! ## Has your doctor provided you with any advice? Ihave a newscript for levothroxine 50 MCG - things usually say MG ## Hi Linn, I definitely hear you on this one. Prescription drugs can be more confusing than algebra at times. Lol The difference of mcg vs mg is the measurement of each. MCG is the abbreviation of micrograms. MG is the abbreviation of milligram. You would need 1000 micrograms to make up 1 milligram. For your own reference: 50 mcg = 0.050 mg Learn More: Levothyroxine Details I hope this helps! :) ## Thank you. That clears up a lot. You are right, it is as bad as algebra which I also did not excel in. ## What is the difference between b12 5000mcg and b12 1000 mcg. I have been taking b12 1000mcg. And the bottle is empty so is it okay if I take b12 5000mcg ## Can you take too much B-12 ? Iam taking 1000 meg per day and get b...

I get short-breathed and winded REALLY easily when working out. I used to go to the gym for 2 hours, now I can't make it longer than 30 minutes. I wake up ALL the time with tingly fingers because my hands have fallen asleep. I have headaches, I feel 100 times more lazy than before...and it's supposed to help your energy, not drain it. I e-mailed my doctor today, this is not making me happy. Not to mention I now have an acne type rash that burns like hell on my chin and I've always had clear skin. Hi. My brother had a heart operation and after that his doctor prescribed him sumapen 250mg as a maintenance antibiotic so he can avoid any infection or any complications... I heard taking antibiotics for so long makes your body resistant to it. ## While that can be true, it would be far more dangerous, at this point, for him to stop taking it and not follow his doctor's instructions. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. It really just means that in the future, if he develops an infection, they will most likely have to give him a different antibiotic to eradicate it. How is he doing, now? ## my doctor's sister recommend to take sumapen 250mg for 3months,because her tonsillitis is swollen ....
I have hypothyroidism, is clearly that i have weight loss problems, my doctor prescribe to me levothyroxine88 mg but instead of loosing i keep gaining weight. My question is anyone knows if i can take fruta planta without any problems while im in this medication? ## Is your doctor checking your thyroid hormone levels regularly? If they are still fluctuating then that may be why you keep gaining, rather than losing. It is a pretty common occurrence for people with thyroid problems. Learn more Levothyroxine details here. And as to the Fruta Planta, it's really best to stay away from it, because in FDA testing, it was found to be adulterated. It contained an undeclared drug ingredient, which is why they made them stop selling at U.S. retail locations. What types of foods do you eat and...
