what is the difference between Syndopa CR & Syndopa Plus? ## It is requested to let me know the side effects of Syndopa Plus medicine. My father-in-law is suffering from Alzerma and doctor has prescribed the said medicine. By taking this medicine, is patient felt drowsiness? Or any other effect. Please let me know. If they are in a bottle as dispensed by your pharmacy, tablets expire one year from the date they were dispensed to you, because they are then exposed to the elements that cause degradation. If they are in the originally factory sealed bottle, they are usually good for at least 3 years, from the date of sealing. This medication is most commonly used to treat the symptoms of Parkinson's Disease and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, hypotension and vivid dreams. What is the best time to drink my medicine?I need to drink my levodopa ( for Parkinson ) 5 times a day 1 tablet. Is it 24 hours divine 5 ? Is like every 5 hours i need to take my medicine?If i take my medicine 8 am , 1pm,6pm, 11pm and 4 am is it right? But i do not want to wake up 4 am in the morning to drink medicine, because i need to eat first and then after 30 minutes i can drink my medicine. What can i do?

I was on the following medication: Syndopa, Premipex and Pacitane. I stopped for a year and a half, then restarted. What is the proper way to take these medications in conjunction with one another and how much of a time gap should be given before each dose?

My wife is suffering from PD in the age of 36 year and the doctor was advised syndopa plus, but after three years she has develop adverse effects like dyskinesia,muscle stiffness, difficulty in speech,depression,some time the drug is not responding, need your valuable suggestion. ## She's perhaps needing an increase of Syndopa+ frequency. I have talked to several people who have said that they did not have good results when they were switched from the brand to the generic. I am having trouble with walking. Has anyone elese experienced numbness in there feet and freezing of legs? It has been happening to me about 1 hour before I take my meds. Medication seems t be lasting only about 5 hours. THE MEDICATION IS FOR PARKINSONB ## Hey George, From what I could gather, Levodopa is in a class of medications called central nervous system agents. It works by being converted to dopamine in the brain. Carbidopa is in a class of medications called decarboxylase inhibitors. It works by preventing levodopa from being broken down before it reaches the brain. This allows for a lower dose of levodopa, which causes less nausea and vomiting. what is the effective half life and absorption rate expected for carb/levo extended release 50/200 mg tab mylan? ## Elimination half-life of levodopa in the presence of carbidopa is about 1.5 hours. Following Carbidopa and Levodopa extended-release, the apparent half-life of levodopa may be prolonged because of continuous absorption. The extended-release formulation releases levodopa and carbidopa over a 4-6 hour period. I'm not quite sure what this equates to in terms of half life. But to be safe I would estimate the half-life to last an extra couple hours. As far as absorption rate goes, the extended release tabs have a bioavailability rate of 0.70 to 0.75. The approx. amount of bioavailable Levodopa in each tab is 140 to 150mg out of the 200mg pill. I hope this helps!

Will this pill cause halucinations? I keep waking up and seeing real life characters like cats or people, i ask them something and they disappear. ## Have you consulted your doctor? This contains Levodopa and Carbidopa. The Levodopa is known to cause some confusion and disorientation. It could be that it is having an adverse effect on your, or you may be on too high of a dosage.

There are quite a few brand names for Levodopa, such as Sinemet, Parcopa, Atamet, Stalevo and others. It is commonly, by itself, or with other drugs, to treat the symptoms of Parkinson's Disease and some other conditions.
