Leg Pain And Weight Gain After 7 Months On Xarelto

I still have leg pain every now and then with xarelto. I have also gain 13 lbs within 5 month period while exercising. Has anyone else had these kinds of issues?

Unfortunately yes! Such complaints are being posted more and more often in relation to this medication.

The leg pain is a listed side effect, but the weight gain is not, however, that doesn't necessarily mean that it's unrelated.

Have you consulted your doctor, yet? It would be best to be safe and let them check things out, before you pinpoint the drug as being the sole cause.

May I ask why you started taking Xarelto? If it was because of a DVT, you probably are experiencing Post Thrombotic Syndrome when your leg with have intense pain from time to time. Try wearing a compression sock daily and elevating your leg as much as possible if this is the case.

As far as the weight gain, I too have experienced the same issue, as well as a bloated abdomen each morning for a few hours. I am a 38 year athletic male who eats right, works out daily and ever since I started Xarelto I cannot lose any weight.

Mid February i experienced a leg cramp that after a week went to dr. Found I'd had a dvt and multiple blood clots in my lungs. I'm now on xarelto. Last weekend i experienced another leg cramp in that leg... dr said to take tylenol. Since yesterday my right leg has had a cramp and it aches awful.. could this be another dvt? My anxiety is now thru the roof...

I have gained weight, been tired to the point of tears. Sweating, itching, upset stomach, dry skin, nausea, so after six months I stopped taking on June 2, haven't told Dr. yet don't see him until June.
