Last Day Suboxone Taper

Started sub 3 months ago today at 12mg. Started tapering 2 months ago. 4 weeks ago I was at 4mg. and have dropped 1 mg per week. Took my last 1mg this morning. Noticed people been asking about coming off this stuff. I,ll keep you all informed about how my jump feels. Not expecting anything for a few days because of the half life. Just to let you know I didn,t feel much bettween tapers until I got down to 1mg. and I gotta tell you that it was just about nothing. Not thinking jump will be too bad, maybe mild discomfort I hope. I know it,ll be nothing like past oxy wds.

Day 4: Hasn,t been too bad yet. Except for the sleep thing whitch I HAVE been getting some kind of feels like about a med. alcohol hangover. Those subs are some weird s#it. I ain,t knocking them because they helped me get off the other stuff and I plan on staying off everything. Does anyone know how long the half life on subs are? I really exspected to be feeling a lot worse by now. Thanks.

Day 5: Got 7hrs sleep last night. Headache whichwas mild but constant is gone. Feeling about 80 percent normal.

Hi sam,

Thanks for taking the time to keep us posted on how this medication is affecting you. I think lots of users benefit immensely from reading how others do it before taking action. There's definitely plenty of Suboxone related threads here in the forum, but not many are as consistent or precise about their progress as you've been.

By the way, I have read that the half life of Suboxone is anywhere from 30-72 hours. The reason for the large hour gap is because there are so many different perspectives on what the half-life could be, without a definitive number. Some say 30 hours and some say 72 hours, but I'd imagine it could fall anywhere in between, depending on individual factors.

After about 5th day I felt fine. Its been allmost a month sub. free now and opiate free also. I feel great. You can get off suboxone and its not that hard. The trick is Taper... Taper.. Taper... and stick to it!

So happy for you! I hope and pray that itll work for me just like it did with you. im done and tired of all this crap already, never would i have thought i would be addicted to anything in my life and i never knew you could get addicted to something a doctor prescribes to you thats how stupid i was to drugs but i pray and ask God for help and the strength to be able to do this!
