Lamotrigine Osteoarthritis And Memory Loss
UpdatedI had a bout of Epilepsy end of year 2019 and was prescribed Lamotrigine 200mg am and pm. It did its work and the seizures stopped,
after around 8 months I developed muscle cramps on my right side and was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis. After a lot of research into side effects I found out that muscle cramps and memory loss (which I have) were a big issue for Lamotrigine. My neurologist said just coincidence and not to change my medication as it could be dangerous to do so, but he did lower the dosage to 175mg twice a day. And I see my GP to investigate the Osteoarthritis of which I did and after a full examination he said to me I did not have any kind of arthritis, so I weened myself off the and the muscle cramps disappeared and my memory recall has improved. And I am now pushing to see a neurologist to seek help with my memory. If a drug took part of it away can that effect be reversed? Names and faces are the worst but not to be able to remember my own parents funerals or a great holiday in china? It has improved greatly since coming off the drug in in less than a year but is there anything or anyone had the same experience?
