Lamitor/venlor, Effects On Libido

Hi, I am on Lamitor 100mg daily and Venlor 37.5mg also daily. Which of these has killed my libido? Or is it both? (Horror!!) Thanks.

Hello, Fiona! How are you?

It occurs very commonly as a side effect of the Venlor, which contains Venlafaxine, as reported by the FDA, so that is the most likely culprit. You may also experience nausea, headache, dry mouth, weight changes and hypotension.

You may want to consult your medical provider about trying a different medication.

Hi Verwon, Thanks for that. I have since stopped the Venlor and my libido has almoat normalised again so you were tight.. 90% main culprit. I am due to go on Wellbutrin next week and I'm nervous. Don't want a repeat but if it brings me out out this ADHD state (which I am officially not) and lifts my mopy low flat feel I'll be really grateful. II can't watch a movie or programme or read a book for more than 2 mins before I'm sidetracked to some other task and then another.. you get the idea. Usually I'm a book worm. Really hope Wellbutrin will help. Oh, what is recommended as the best drug targeting anxiety? I hear wellbutrin does nothing for this and the Lamitor doesn't seem to either. Thanks.
