Lamictal Crying And Shakiness (Page 2) (Top voted first)
UpdatedHaving trouble sleeping and having crying fits and shakyness - anyone else experiancing this on this medicine?
I am also having crying fits, I have no idea why but I am generally more emotional than usual. I thought this was just typically me, because I do admit I am very sensitive, but the crying fits are too regular i believe.
I've been on Lamictal for years and went off of it once but took a yr to wean off. One shouldn't go off cold turkey. Very dangerous and one risks having a seizure if not weaned off properly. It seems you are experiencing the side effects of that.
Don't let other's experiences stop you from at least trying the medication. I have been on lamictal for 2 years now and it has completely changed my life for the better. I used to cry everyday. As my doctor increased my dose of lamictal, I was able to manage my emotions better and better. I am now on 400mg a day and feel the best I ever have.
I have been taking Lamictal since 2001; first with Respiradol; and lately with Latuda. I also have to have an antidepressant, 1st. Effexor, later Prestique, and for about 5 years on Cymbalta. Remember this is over a period of 16 years. I owe Lamictal everything for making the last 16 years finally stable, and fairly happy. I would recommend the three together - Latuda, an antidepressant, and a mood stabilizer. I am a severe Bipolar 2 and also severe ADHD. Lots of love to all!
Re: Melissa (# 1)
It has helped me but my vision is blurred if I sit too far back in church and my throat feels like it has lump or something making it harder to swallow
Re: Melissa (# 1)
I've been on 25 mg twice a day for 2 weeks then increased to 50 mg twice a day, my vision blurred in church, same distance I've been sitting at, feeling of fullness in throat when swallowing. She increased to 75mg twice a day after 2 weeks, coordination was off and forgetfulness. I'm back on 50mg twice a day. It has helped a lot, mood good, stable mental status, thoughts clearer. I do not like this feeling in my throat.
Hey- I just started Lamictal today for my very resistant depression (have been in a depressive state for over a year). Within 6 hours I noticed a huge change, I suddenly cared about things again. Am I having a placebo effect or is it possible this very first dose of 25 mg could have made any change?
