Jardiance And Diabetic Ketoacidosis (dka)

I’ve only been on jardiance for 3 days. Day 1 and 2 we’re totally fine, and it’s been working great for my blood sugar. But I was having some abdominal pain and tested my ketones and it came back as moderate. Does anyone else always have ketones on jardiance?

Did you only check that once, or did you check more?

What you've described was only one check, so that doesn't really translate into always having ketones while on Jardiance.

However, people have been known to experience diabetic ketoacidosis, while on Jardiance, so you should make sure to check your ketones regularly, and inform your doctor of the results. Other side effects, as reported by the FDA, may include nausea, increased urination, waking up at night to urinate, hypotension, and arthralgia.

My doctor prescribed me jardiance 25mg to take once a morning. There Is increased urination. But it's also making my pee smell bad. I was diagnosed as prediabetic. My sugar averages about 130. My cousin is type 2 diabetic and is taking only 10mg. What I'm getting at is, should a person who is prediabetic be taking such a high dosage? I've never experienced any of the side effects of sugar, like my cousin does. I can eat sweets and feel fine. I don't understand why I have to take this medication.

I'm also on gabapentin 100mg 3 times a day. Valium 5mg as needed. Percocet 5-325 twice a day. Bupropion 150mg once a day. Amitriptylin 50mg once at night. Tylenol also to assist with my pain management.
