Well, I have been on Jardiance for 4 months now. I have lost 42 pounds. I have reduced meds. But I have to say, I am peeing every hour, and am fairly incontinent. I also have a funny ashy taste in my mouth. Is there anybody else out there on this stuff?
Duke it is still a very new drug, sadly that means the Pharm company is still making big bucks off of it. It took months for my insurance to even approve my use and I had to prove that other drugs like the ancient Metformin caused too many side effects.
Richard, I believe you meant it lowered your A1C, not your Blood sugar as a FSBG of 8.3to 7.? would mean you were dead, but an A1C of those numbers would be a great decrease. Hope the numbers continue to go down.
I stopped taking jardiance because I can't afford it. I got it free for one year and now that my insurance has changed it's not covered. I can't afford to pay 428 dollars a month. Don't know why it is so exspensive?
I started my first pill today. How long does it take to start working?
I started a 10 mg dose 4 months ago and I have lost 23 pounds. Only real side effect is more frequent urination and possible dry cough at times. It has lowered my blood sugar from about 8.3 to 7.1. So overall pretty good if you can live with the few side effects.
Are you taking 25 mg once a day?
I have noticed pain in lower left groin area. Same side as my kidney stone. Not sure if it's from stone or medication. Sometimes notice a burning sensation when I urinate. Anyone else experiencing this?
Started out taking half tablet for 1st two weeks. After taking one full month @ 1 full tab a day I had a kidney stone attack. Experienced very dry mouth, drink tons of water. Frequent urination, some burning at times. Have lost approximately 10 pounds. I have had a lot of issues and am not sure what it is related to.
I have now lost 45 pounds. I too have major urination issues, but hesitate to stop this med because I HAVE lost this weight. I am having trouble keeping from dehydrating. At first I developed a uti, but since then I am having trouble with incontinence. I have to pee at least every hour. I have tried to up my water intake. According to my doctor I am still eating too many carbs, and supposedly that is why I am peeing so much. If I don't fly to the bathroom at the first urge, I wet my pants. This was really not an issue before. On the positive side, it appears to be giving me an almost food aversion, and a mild nausea--not enough to throw up, but enough to make me not want to eat. It has reduced the amount of insulin I need.
I have been taking Jardiance for about 2 months. I have recently noticed that I urinate more and it is uncontrollable. Never had this issue before? I believe it could be the Jardiance because that is the only new medication I have been taking. I feel dry mouth a lot too and have begun to notice pain or numbness in my stomach area.
Is there anyone else out there who is having the same issues.
Started taking Jardiance about 6 weeks ago. Having to half meds and still experiencing a dry severe cough that seems to stop when I stops meds? anyone experiencing a dry cough?
My visit with my endo was frustrating. First he said that jardiance could not possibly be causing the 42 lb weight loss. I've been trying for 50 years to lose weight, and trust me, it is the jardiance. He told me to try to drink lots more liquid (I try to consume 3 quarts a day.) He suggested that I was consuming too many carbs... which I know is not happening... I have lost 42 lbs in 4 months... if anything I am not eating enough.... well, I guess I'll keep trudging along. A1C went down 1.5 in the first 2 months, meds halved or more....
Please make sure your doctor checks that out, it is possible.
Can you post back and update me on what you find out?
I go back to the doctor next week. We started at 10 for a week and then went right to 25. I wish I knew if the tablets could be split. Just got a refill for 3 months. Also wonder if I could possibly have a mild bladder infection making things worse.
Hello, Rebecca! How are you? I'm sorry about the side effects that you're experiencing.
As listed by the FDA, Jardiance is used to treat type 2 diabetes and help boost weight loss. The increased urination is normal, that's how the medication eliminated the excess sugars from the body, other side effects may include nausea, hypotension, UTIs and hypoglycemia.
What dosage are you on?
You may need an adjustment, if it's pushing you to the point where you are experiencing incontinence.
