No, they are not the same. Zanaflex contains the active ingredient Tizanidine, which is just a muscle relaxant.
The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and dry mouth.
Xanax, however, is a benzodiazepine, it contains the active ingredient Alprazolam. It carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, sedation, and irritability.
