Is Tylenol 3 As Addictive As Oxycodone (Top voted first)

Is tylenol 3 addictive, like oxycodne or hydrocodone? Is it also a class 2 med? I have chronic pain from a traffic accident a few years back (damaged pelvis & lower back, shoulders, etc.). I am quite active on "good days", like riding my Harleys, and don't want to be stuck having to take pain meds on days I can get by with regular tylenol (and wish to drive & be 100% alert).

Hello, Stood! How are you?

Tylenol 3 contains Acetaminophen and Codeine, so while it still has the same potential to be habit forming as the others, it is a much milder analgesic.

However, if you don't take them all the time, on a regular basis, you won't become addicted to, or dependent on any of them. That only occurs with regular use and/or abuse of them.

The FDA classifies these medications as being narcotic analgesics and they may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation.

Which one has your doctor recommended?
