Is This A Fluoxetine Pill? (Page 6) (Top voted first)

Re: Carissa (# 22)
I know this is old, but you don't have to wait for a counselor appointment. Just call the pharmacy and tell them you want a different brand and they'll order it for you. Or, they may have a different brand in stock already.
Re: Celeste (# 45)
But what about the pills from Teva? Did they work well for you?
I received the Northstar fluoxetine at Wal-Mart and it was good for me. My mood was the best since I started taking Prozac/fluoxetine. Next refill was a different manufacturer and am struggling with moods again. Has anyone else had a good response to Northstar's generic? Hope I can find it at another pharmacy.
I, too, received the Northstar fluoxetine and have been taking it for 8 days and was wondering what was wrong with me. It's like taking nothing--all the depression, weepiness, ups and downs are back. Please help me.
I took it for almost 2 weeks before I figured out that it was the pills making me crazy. This is the first time I've taken the blue ones (Northstar). Mine have always been white and green or white with a green stripe.
Thing is, mine are both manufactured by teva!
I have the same issue...taking it to pharmacy tomorrow.....
I take the 10 MG fluoxetine I love the white with blue writing and now I git the orange and.blue I don't like them but I can't remember who makes the white ones dos any one know ?
I experienced severe heartburn with fluoxetine 40 mg when my generic was switched from Teva to NorthStar. Now that I'm taking Teva again, there is no longer a problem. In reading through these posts, I see a lot of misperceptions about brand vs. various generics. All generics contain exactly the same active ingredient as the brand and are therefore therapeutically equivalent. The only difference among various generics are the fillers (or inactive ingredients), which people may react differently to (in this case heartburn with NorthStar but not Teva). It is extremely important to understand that although different generics may cause different side effects, they are ALL EQUALLY ACTIVE in treating depression and/or anxiety!
Guys, all generic brands of Prozac are chemically the same. Bad batches do occur but they are very rare. Most of what's described here is psychological. Heartburn can occur with any pill - drink more water when you take them.
Hey guys check out this link: fda.gov/Training/ForHealthProfessionals/ucm090320.htm
The 80 percent to 125 percent rule is bogus. It's not true. Think about it, the fda would not approve drugs nor would you be perscribed faulty drugs. It's natiral to go through the reverse placebo effect when switching to a unknown brand. Your expectations are different, so the result will be too. It's all in your heads guys.
