Is Robaxin A Steroid?

Is methocarbamol (robaxin) a steroid or anti-depressant? I started using it two months ago in Apr 2013 and I am experiencing severe mood swings. The two things that cause me mood swings is IM, IV, or oral steroids or any type of anti-depressant. I'm becoming reclusive, angry and noncommunicative. This happens every time I'm exposed to either drug category. I know depressants can also cause these side effects, but I've had lots of those without side effects whereas I've never taken one of the aforementioned without them. Thx!

No, Robaxin/Methocarbamol is just a muscle relaxant, but mood changes are warned about in the monograph as being a potential serious side effect.

Thus, you should most likely stop taking it and contact your doctor as soon as possible. It seems it just may not be the right medication for you.
