Is Meloxicam Habit Forming And Can It Be Taken If On Lasix?

I have been on Meloxicam 15mg for about 2 weeks for neck and shoulder pain, believed to be caused from arthritis. It has helped alot compared to the pain I was in before I started it. I just wanted to know if it is habit forming? I take the Meloxicam in the evening but I take Lasix in the morning, is this ok that these are both taken but at different times? Thank you.

I was on Meloxicam for 3 months and was attacking my stomach..I ended up in the ER and was diagnosed with Gastritis. .a inflammation of the stomach, odd because it's an inflammatory. I went off it cold turkey immediately and dI'd not have withdrawl at all. Everyone is different though, good luck..

Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, so it is not habit forming, it's most commonly used to treat pain, fever and swelling. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach pain.

Catherine, most NSAIDs can cause stomach irritation, I've had gastritis myself and it is horrible. How is yours doing, now?

As to taking the Meloxicam with the Lasix, there are no significant interactions listed, but the Meloxicam may slightly reduce the efficacy of the Lasix.

Good morning..my doctor gave me meloxicam 15 mg and he told me to take it 3 times a day. My question is, is it ok if i take meloxicam 3 times a day?

I am on ART(HIV medicine) and now my Doctor has prescribed two medicines for me- Meloxicam tablets 1 per day and Carvedilol 12.5mg 1 per day for the pain around the left side of my chest.Is it safe for me to take either of them at the same time as HIV medicine (Fixed dose of favirenz,lamivudine and Tenofovir Disproxil)
