Is Meloxicam Commonly Abused
UpdatedMy daughter has been stealing my meds (meloxicam) and I was wondering is she addicted or is the medication getting her high to where she keeps stealing them?

No, this is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, so it is not commonly abused, since it doesn't cause the effects of opiates, or stimulants.
The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and stomach irritation.
However, if it is making her dizzy, she might think that she's getting high from it. Have you spoken to her about it?
My son is also taking the same thing I an underhanded method he has acquired them. He is 16 . This couldn't be just for pain he would ask me for something. I am also concerned.
My son has been insufflating these pills and I was wondering what it does to him and how it affects him?
I have a Rx for mobic and you get 0 high off of them. No idea why kids would be abusing them. But hey kids these days eat Tide pods. So maybe they need an old fashioned belt to straighten them out.
