Is Voltaren Used For Cold Sores

I was told by my Dr to use Voltaren on my cold sores is this a correct usage?

Hi Mel,

Based on my research, Voltaren (diclofenac) is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for the relief of joint pain of osteoarthritis in the knees, ankles, feet, elbows, wrists, and hands. It seems to have no mention of being used for cold sores, but I have read posts from other who have used it for that purpose with good results.

In that sense it could just be a common off-label usage for the drug.
