I just gave myself a 12-panel drug test and I can assure you that it will not show up as barbituates, or anything else. I have been taking them for the last few weeks and I still came up negative for everything, just wanted to let you know to put your minds at rest. However, if the do a gm and they are specifically looking for milltown or soma you will come up positive, but they most likely would not do that.

Drug test are for testing for Illegal drugs. If a medication has been prescribed to you by a medical provider, and you took the prescription to a pharmacist to have filled and are taking that med. the drug is not positive. It will be a negative for Illegal drugs.
That being said, if you are being tested by your pain management provider, then they are testing to make sure the meds that are being prescribed for you are in your system in the right amount. If not, then you are going to have to explain why they are not. They also test to make sure other drugs that are not prescribed to you are not in your body.

Yes it is a narcotic!! You have to pick up the script from the Drs officebecause it is. I take them daily.

Soma can show up as a TCA on the 10 panel drug test. It just shows a trace of something in the urine, but most places do not see a trace as positive. Here in Detox we look at all of it. TCA's will pick up psych drugs, clonidines and soma's, too.

As of January 2012, fda changed it to a narcotic/controlled substance. It did NOT show up on the UA my pain mgmt doctor did which is not good in my case. I read how it could throw a false positive for morphine, which I am also on. So the soma didn't show but the morphine did.I hadn't taken soma for a few days. So I had to redo the test. I won't find out for another month.

I got pulled over and charged with DUI. The only thing I had taken was my prescription suboxone and ambien(night before), but had took 5non prescribed soma like an hour before. Will the soma show up on blood test if I had just taken it an hour before test

Get on suboxone. Is the best thing ever for opiate withdrawels and detoxing from them. I got on them and no urges craving, body aches, death warmed over feeling.

whoever posted that they are tested by a pain management doctor and only sometimes get tested for fentanyl might want to recheck that, not that you have anything to worry about as you obviously do not take fentanyl, but as it is a very, very abused narcotic, and everyone I know that has died from a drug overdose, is because of fentanyl, I'm pretty sure any drug screen would test positive in the opiates. And I would just like to say to the person who is so much better than most people on this site because they "actually need pain management" you're lying to two doctors to get meds prescribed, it's a felony and I'm happy to burst your bubble by saying you are the exact same as the rest of us addicts, except I've been sober for 3 years and you are still judgemental and in denial!! Good luck with that!!

go to a pain management dr who offers drug control. ask for suboxone. I used to work for a pain dr and that was a popular alternative and I hear from him and many patients its very affective.

Some soma have hydrocodone in them, but the prescription bottle would say so, that is why the give a "false positive" for morphine. It actually shiws up as an opiate. Most soma, however, that are prescribed do not have that in them.
