Is My Information Shared Between Pharmacists In Other Communities If Ie I Get A Script Filled Elsewhere

If I am away for a weekend and need to see a dr, AND he writes me a prescription, does the pharmacist see all of my infomation come up on the computer?

No, not if they aren't in the same pharmacy chain or affiliated with the same pharmacy you use regularly.

However, the government does have all of this information. So, for instance if you are getting prescriptions for controlled substances and are doctor shopping elsewhere to get more of them, then it will be discovered by the federal authorities.

If they detect such suspicious behavior, then it will be reported to all pharmacies that you have used, as well as any in your immediate area.

Theres only a few states left which are not in the national pharmacy board data base. That is the database of folks filling scripts for controlled substances. Every state has one,the question is whether the state has joined the national. You can likely go to the pharmacy board website for the state you live in and find out all kinds of information!!

I got a script for Xanax from one Dr. and he said he would not prescribe it again. I went to a different Dr. and got another script and filled it 7 days before the other was supposed to run out. Is this illegal?

It's only illegal to double Dr if both are giving you a narcotic. . If this is what you did then yes it's highly illegal

In some towns and cities, yes! Absolutely! This is how they can see if you try to fill scripts earlier or are abusing strong drugs.
Best plan is to always see your primary doctor to sort your med script out for extras while you are away.
Even then, your primary will ensure you only have enough for your holiday, and a return visit to see him again.

You are wrong! A doctore or pharmacy can pull up a Cures 2.0 report from the Office of the Attorney General & it lists all the schedule A, B & C drugs you are taking~It lists when, where you had it filled & drug info! You can't get around the government anymore! A pharmacy will know immediately when & where you had your last prescription filled! "Cures 2.0" is a government run organization that plays the go between all pharmacy's & doctor's~All a doctor or pharmacy needs is to submit your name & birthdate & it tells them everything about your medication history~I don't care if you get one filled in CA & try to get another filled in Florida~All the pharmacy's now have the info on their computer! It's extremely difficult to get more than one prescription of the same med filled by different doctors unless you have a fake name & ID! Regular doctors & Urgent care clinics won't even prescribe schedule A & B pain meds~You need to get them from a pain care specialist or a surgeon! A lot of specialists are nervous about prescribing them as well! A lot of doctors are getting their license pulled for not following the proper protocol when prescribing these types of meds! In the next year or two, I bet half or more of the doctors that can will stop prescribing these highly addictive pain meds! I've been taking them for 8 years for chronic back pain, neck pain, joint & arthritis all over my body~ For 30 years I worked in below 32 degree temps & now I can hardly move around without meds~I now take 6/30 mg of Morphine Sulfate ER daily & it has no euphoric effects~ All I feel is tired 24/7! I wish I never started taking anything, but the pain made that impossible! It definitly helps with the pain & weening off of it would take years! I'm really contemplating doing just that because of the cost & hassle!
