Is Hydrocodone Apap 5mg 500mg Okay For 11 Year Old At 76 Lbs?

I want to know if I can give my 11-year-old daughter who is 76-78 lbs. a Hydrocodone APAP 5mg 500 mg because she broke her thumb (doctor put a splint on) and it is throbbing. Doc just told us give her Ibuprofen but that's not helping so much tonight. Thank you

Have you tried asking her doctor?

The Hydrocodone is a narcotic, so I wouldn't suggest giving it to any child, unless a doctor has specifically instructed you to do so.

I would not suggest giving your daughter hydrocodone 5/500 the Tylenol dose for her weight is to much . I would agree with your doctor according to her weight she should take 3.5 tsp of children's Motrin. The reason for having pain at nighties she is most likely not elevating her hand on a pillow. If her hand is below her heart this will cause pain and throbbing . You can also use ice for added anti inflammatory effect .
