Is Buprenorphine Generic For Suboxone?

From the prescription drug community website, next to the listed drug, Suboxone, was the word 'Buprenorphine'. Is this the generic drug for Suboxone?

That is correct, Buprenorphine is the active opioid ingredient in Suboxone, but it also contains Naloxone, to help prevent the abuse of other opiates, while being treated with it.

The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

Generics are more readily available in the U.S. now.

No what your husband has is generic subutex. It is buprenorphine alone. Suboxone has naloxone in it also. Their is no generic suboxone yet. Generic subutex is alot cheaper, but doctors dont like to prescribe it. I wish they would. People who are really addicts cant afford suboxone.
