I was prescribe this medication for migrane headaches. They make me very droussy I can't take it during the working hrs b/c it would make to to sleepy.
I was prescribed this to take on a onset of a migraine, do they work?
After trying EVERYTHING out there for migraines, even hospital treatment, indomethacin works for me. Once you gain the tolerance sleepiness subsides.
This is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, so it may help with migraines. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and stomach irritation.
How are you all doing when taking it? Is it helping?

I do just fine with this med. Sometimes get the dizziness. But the dose I'm given doesn't touch my symptoms. My Dr just doesn't understand. Once your body gets used to medication, the dosage has to change. I've had migraines for 25yrs!
I just started taking the 50mg dose (2x daily =100mg total), with little to no side effects, and it completely knocked my migraines out whereas all my other meds didn't touch my daily migraines.

I am with you. I have been on everything under the sun. I am starting botox again. The indo has bottomed out for me and stopped working but did work for a while. I started getting treated around 16 and I am now 39.
Last Sept I had sinus surgery as well as a severe deviated septum repair. I was migraine free for quite a while except for sinus pressure. But low and behold they returned and even though I wear an ICEKAP (Google it it is an amazing product!!) I don't get relief.. I wear it to bed. It's as it nothing will give!
I have been taking Indomethacin for quite some time for my migraines and it seems to be the ONLY medication over so many years of all different meds I've been put on (you name it) that actually works. I have not experienced any side effects from it. But now my Neurologist will not fill it as he always wants me to go in to see him, and it is just another copay and a 5 min visit.
How can I keep taking my dose that works? I have done botox without relief as well as nerve blocks that only numb my skin... I don't know what to do now since I am questioning my Neurologist and his treatment. I have had a migraine for almost 4 days now and am taking prednisone to "break the cycle" of which has not worked!
Any and all suggestions please. I'm in total agony and have to be at work, and take care of my boys when I get home...
