Took acetamin w/cod 1/2 gr #3 4 hours ago but it did not relieve pain. Can I take one more? Instructions say take every. 8 hours. Or shouuld I take 800 mg of ibuprofen instead. ## Hi Suee, Since the instructions say to take the Acetaminophen/Codeine every 8 hours- I would follow that and just take the Ibuprofen. I checked and there shouldn't be any negative reactions when taking Acetaminophen/Codeine and Ibuprofen in the same day. Keep in mind, I am not a doctor so any advice given is solely based on my opinion and research. I was prescribed AMOX/K CLAV 875 mg for a sinus infection - one tablet every 12 hrs for 10 days (seems to be helping clear the sinus infection). I currently have a bright red, angry rash (very itchy!) on my arms, legs, back, neck, and ears... The rash began 2 days ago, with redness and itchiness on my knees, inner forearms (esp at elbow bend), and one side of my neck. We are on a beach vacation, so when the rash began, I thought I must have missed putting sunscreen on those spots... As the rash intensified (still just in those areas, angry red, slightly swollen, itchy areas) I thought I was having a reaction to too much sun (polymorphous light eruption?) and was taking ibuprofen to help with swelling and hydrocortisone cream to help with itching. Last night and today, the rash had sprea...

I am taking melfene 200mg i have gained weight since i have been on then can it be a side affect ## Hello, I'm having trouble finding any information on a drug by the name of Melfene, is it possible that you meant to say Melfen? If so, my research tells me that the main ingredient in Melfen is Ibuprofen- a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication used to treat fever and pain, including pain caused by headache, toothache, arthritis, cold or flu, migraine, or menstrual cramps. To my knowledge, weight gain is not a side effect of Ibuprofen. Everyone does react to medication differently however. Have you made any changes to your diet that could be the culprit? Or are you taking any other medications? You can learn more about this drug on the page for Ibuprofen Details

Is there any complications with talking dayquil and then etodolac? ## In regards to this, Dayquil actually does not contain Ibuprofen, it contains Acetaminophen, with Dextromethorphan and Phenylephrine. Learn more Acetaminophen details here and there are more Dextromethorphan details here and more Phenylephrine details here. That said, I didn't find any interactions or problems listed between the ingredients in the DayQuil and the Etodolac, but you should always double check such information to be certain. The main issues that I can see that may occur would be due to a possible potentiation of the side effects, so you may experience more nausea, dizziness and stomach irritation. Is it safe for my wife to take Ibuprofen? She had two small stomach ulcers 12 years ago caused by H Pylori bacteria ## @Richard, Based on my research, regular use of aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) can actually raise your risk for stomach ulcers. Although taking NSAIDs once in a while is safe for most people. Is Ibuprofen something your wife uses often? ## She just needs effective painkillers for a short time as she recovers from a hysterectomy. She started on paracetamol + codeine, but suffered problems with constipation from the codeine.
