I Talk Out One Side Of My Mouth
UpdatedHI -
I'm a 27 year old woman, and a couple of years ago, during an acting exercise I was filmed giving a monologue, it was while watching this that I became horribly aware that I speak out only one side of my mouth, and aware of how my face felt tighter on the side of my mouth that stayed "closed" more so than the other. I don't have any recollection of anything "traumatic" happening to me in my life, but in my current line of work as a performer, I am hyper aware of how I speak and what it looks like. Could this be something that has a medical condition that can be treated or something that I can unlearn?

Hello, Elizabeth! How are you doing? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having.
It could be either or, but there's no way anyone online can say for sure.
It might just be a habit you developed throughout your life, or there could be some type of nerve or tendon issue.
Have you consulted your doctor?
Hello, how wierd, I have exactly the same problem... I am 90% sure it's anxiety due to being self conscious. Its become very annoying, and noticed its something that's become accustomed to my speech over the last few years. Did you ever find the root cause?
